Hey everybody. I know this keeps happening, but I think we're way closer to having this work!

Can you guys try to tune into NSTV and see if it's working?

There might be two channels listed. One of them should work for you...

It's the re-broadcast of the Triple Challenge big air right now, so there's some tricks to watch.

Hmmmm.... winamp plugin isn't working for some reason. I've had three people tell me that.

Can you get it to open in windows media player?

I'm trying to figure out how to change that setting... any other members with advice? (I'm a tech retard)

I've tried messing with all the default setting and it won't open in windows, it always used to open in windows during your first test, now its either win amp or real.

Its only for decoration thats it and thats all

Yeah, I got it working in Windows Media Player but not WinAmp.

I know it's really dark... we weren't using the best camera in the world, and it was dark out!

Remember, this was the first ever field test of the technology, so it won't be perfect. YET!

whats the plan for NSTV.. jus show comps? or have a show once a week or sumthing... will it always b looping, or will it eventaully have a schedule?

For right now, we're going to play around with it whever we can. Try to do some interviews, comp footage, etc.

There's much more that we're looking into, but there won't be anything scheduled any time soon.

There's a lot involved in doing video, so right now we're testing the technology and making sure it works.

i got it to work, i went into winamp and went to prefrences and deselected every file type it can play or whatever, then when i opened it again it opened in WMA.

yeh its workin for me now too!! when i was in the peercast yellow pages i just clicked on wmv and it opened it up in windows media so all good now...

Yah we have no concrete plans for the TV yet. For now we just want to test it and work out all the kinks so we know how to run a reliable show.

Then we can work on the content.

Doug was doing some Linux hacking today for his first time. I thought he was doomed but it's working. ;)

Ok, I think I have a solution to the problem here... for everybody who can't connect because of the feed opening in the wrong program:

"I believe the "play" button code associates video streams with the .ram

file type as downloaded from the /pls mountpoint in PeerCast, if

RealPlayer is installed .ram is associated with RealPlayer and Windows

will run RealPlayer. Your "viewers" need to associate .ram with whatever

they're using to view the stream, WMP??. You could create a "dummy"

.ram file with say notepad(but don't save it as a text file or else notepad

will append .txt to the filename) then do a shift-right-mouse-click on the

file and "open with">> "select program" browse to Windows Media Player,

it may be listed, hit "ok" but check box "always use selected program".

This "should" associate WMP with the .ram file type offered by PeerCast.

I have played about with it in the past and it did work for me."

Does that make sense to anybody?

It's just looping the same competition. It will be running for a few days.

We need to make sure that it's stable, and that people can connect, so that we can start doing more with it eventually!
