NSG kitchen

Probably pan was too hot/it was in there too long. Garlic burns pretty easily, you gotta watch for that shit. But ya you shouldve just thrown the sauce in there, it wouldn't have made it taste really bad or anything.

Lunch:

My last cooked meal was baked ziti, but I make it all the time. One that I distinctly remember was a sirloin, topped with basil, feta cheese, and halved cherry tomatoes. Muy delicioso. But on a not cooking related note my dad's friend made stuffed manicotty, which was fucking delicious. It was filled with ricotta, feta, chedder, mozzarella, parmesan, romano, basil, and sausage. Was tasteyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I'm a creature of habit.

First one:

Olive Baguette, cut in three sections with shrimp, cocktail-sauce, onion and some salad

Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

Cappuccino

Spicy Thai chicken soup.

Second one:

Italian bread roll with shrimp, cocktail-sauce, onion and some salad.

Evian water

Cappuccino

Spicy That chicken soup.

I'm a head cook at a steakhouse I'd I would just like to say this is one of my favorite threads on NSG

Carry on.

The entire set-up is sexy, the serving tray, ye olde wedgewood plates, cool glass, cool wacky cappucino cup, wacky modern looking spoons.

I love Lawrence his lifestyle, he seems like a real-life Patrick Bateman.

pretty well just completely perfected the art of popcorn making...ok so the idea came from reading something online but whatever. Air pop it, put butter in a pan, melt and clarify it. If you dont clarify it, it gets all soggy and chewy because of the moisture content in butter. After you have it clarified mix in about the same amount of virgin coconut oil, melt that and pour it over the popcorn. Haha not really all that different from how id normally do it, but i never knew about the clarifying part, and it made it soo much better. Also was surprised to find out that they normally use coconut oil in movie theatres, but i would assume that its the shitty hydrogenated stuff and not the nice expensive virgin stuff that i use.

didnt take a pic but last night i made a turkey burger with pesto in the meat, topped with melted buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, and tomato, with pesto and aioli spread on a toasted ciabatta roll...was soo fuckin good

Last night I broiled up (grill out of commision *sadface*) some individual steaks -- served with mushrooms and caramelized onions. Also red potatoes that I bake homefrie style - I tried to chop up to be crisped little pieces so I can perfect for the man in my life, but did not work as planned - so that needs more work! And greenabeans nomnomnom. Super yum.

I made a fucking fantastic chili last night. Used turkey meat since the significant other doesn't like beef, but it was still delicious.

Just made a little late-night snack.
Fried reindeer filet with garlic-sautéd mushrooms on warm breadrolls.
Shit was cash.

Why the fuck was he dressed all Matrix-like?

But that didn't look that bad. Gonna bump this thread to keep it at the top, even though I haven't cooked anything in at least a week.

I started following you, but after looking at several of your food pics.... I'm thinking it was a poor choice and I will be perpetually hungry.

Interesting. I make popcorn all the time, I have my moms old school 80s air popper, I love that its still kicking. I've never once clarified the butter, and I've also never once had soggy popcorn. But I definitely want to try this to see if there is a difference.

yea its not a massive difference but its definitely crispier i find, and sometimes when i put a lot of regular butter on popcorn i found it getting pretty chewy. The next thing i want to try once i go grocery shopping again is popcorn with duck fat, clarified butter, orange zest, thyme and garlic. haha might be a bit ridiculous just for popcorn but it sounds fuckin good.

Made pancakes and bacon for breakfast/lunch. With strawberry jam, and OJ, milk and coffee. Delicious. Sry for bad pic.
