NS'ers with odd/uncommon names

I always wish that I had a unique name for these very reasons. Not that I don't like my name but it's pretty boring and there are quite a lot of people with the same one.

Totally feel ya on that, unique and all. I guess its more the family here and the ridiculous name they decided on. It just really, really is unfortunate for this kid.

With all due respect, Rowen is a solid name that I'm very fond of.

< - May not be uncommon in Scandinavia, but in Scotland it sure is.

And ginko what's your name?

Also ashley if people get upset if somebody gets made fun of because of their name, there's legitimately something wrong with them IMO, people shouldn't be that sensitive.

We're the skis you made some time ago coincidentally linked to your actual name or was that on purpose?

Aha I'd love to name my future kid with the first name Redmond and the middle name Brick (after the guy from Anchorman) can anyone who doesn't know me personally guess my last name might be?

Totally this. Haha Ive been called Willy/Willie ever since I was 5 years old, I hated being mocked by the other boys at kindergarten because it rhymed with male genetalia (who wouldnt? Haha). Buuut I am so thankful my parents gave me my name. I have never met another girl who has it as her firstname, and everytime I meet a new person and they hear my name they think its cool, unique and beautiful. I am definitely naming my future kids something unusual as well, I am super fond of old, 19th century swedish names.

True that. "Jamie is such a girls name! Ha-Ha!" it was one of the first things I had to learn to ignore/shrug off, which is a great skill to adopt early on, especially in middle school.

Oh sick, ya I know of one other skier named declan who is good, and mostly painters and plasters have the name

Nils. Not to be confused with Niles... although it is. Not uncommon in scandanavia, however in the US is another story. Have yet to meet another Nils.

Well Daphne I hope you've found your glasses.

And Luke really isn't uncommon. But I like it. Luuuuuuke, Luuuke. Yeah, I like the sound of that .
