NSers in Boulder, CO

So. My family is considering moving to Boulder. I currently live in North Carolina; however, I grew up partially in a little town called Durango in Colorado. I've lived here in NC for 2 years now (currently a sophomore in high school, been since my freshman year.) My entire family missed CO though and we're pretty dead set on moving. Plus, my older sister goes to CU so we're pretty familiar with the town and love it. People always think I go to CU because of my icon...but I lie.

This may sound pathetic but...could someone who's going to be a junior next year at Boulder's highschool maybe give me some pointers so I know some people there if I do move? I'll be honest...i'm pretty scared. Meeting new people is hard. When we moved to NC, I literally knew no one my first day of high school...pretty terrifying. People will be pretty mature by the time I move, as upperclassmen tend to be more open to new people. But i'm still pretty scared of not knowing ANYONE my first few days.

So my question is..is someone willing to talk to me about Boulder? Maybe introduce themselves beforehand who's preferably in the same grade at Boulder's highschool? I'm currently home sick/suspended for various reasons. Due to the suspension, I was asked by my mother to delete my facebook...but i'll have it back in a few weeks. Just getting onto NS was kinda hard..had to wait till my parents left to steal my laptop back. But I'll be here all day. I'll also be on MW2 if someone wants to just chat and talk to me about it, you'dbe in for some serious Karma both in NS and in the real world.

I really appreciate anyone who spent the time to read this. If you wanna play MW2, my gamertag is schanfarbros so add me if you're feeling nice.

Sparknotes: Moving to Boulder for highschool, anyone want to introduce themselves?

moving during highshool blows

i also moved the summer goin into junior year

join after school clubs that helps alot with meeting people

also talk to people that you think might ski and im guessing theres gonna be quite a bit of people who ski in the school youre gonna be goin to

I was planning on joining some clubs, but I'm afraid to look like a tool by joining a club that actually interests me if that makes sense. I think it'd be hard to avoid looking weird though as an outsider

nah that doesnt make sense man. do what you want, just be yourself and you will find friends that will like you for you... dont try to be something your not, because you will just dig yourself a big shit hole.

Really easy to make friends in a college town, especially Boulder since most of the people there aren't native. Don't worry about it, you'll be fine!

you have got to be a fucking idiot to not tackle this opportunity with all you've got.
like is that even a question? should i move from chapel hill NC.. where there are 0 places to ski, everyone is a fag, and its NC!!!!! to boulder CO.. probably the best place for a newschool skier to live. pluss they have medical ganja and boulder has the dankest herb in the USA, besides NorCal.
but seeing as how i dont know you, and me and brewster know every skier with skillz in the southeast basically im going to call you a fag
this thread just pisses me off. i would kill you to be able to move to boulder just like that FUCK

No...I think you completely missed my point. I AM probably moving, but it's A) not my call and B) if I do move, I justwant to know some people there.

Asshole.

hey you can suck my goddamn cock you've already got me pissed off kid.
a. i did get your point little boy
b. making letter bullets is for nancys
c. you must lack the social skills needed to feel comfortable around new people
d. i dont think your old enough to be using dirty words like that.
e. if you do move, youve already made a complete mockery of yourself in front of your new lil frands

What's your problem man? I posted this so I would know someone in a new town. I don't really get why you're going after me here.

true story. schmooey, you got nothing to worry about. you'll really enjoy boulder. i lived there for four years until moving to durango this year. while i feel like most people in durango are from the western slope or new mexico, people in boulder are from EVERYWHERE in the west/usa. it's a welcoming place full of good old-fashioned nice people. also really good for skaters/skiiers/riders. you're gonna have a great time there.
also check out the five mountain pass if you haven't already. i think's it only 300 bucks if you're under 18.http://www.snow.com/passsales/default.aspx
let me know what you end up doing.Brian

i walk by boulder highschool everyday to class and see a bunch of kids who look like they ski, skate, snowboard. looks like a good crowd. a bunch of them smoke weed during there lunch break by the park near my house. a lot of them try to bum cigs off me.

Good luck on the move man!
The only advice I can give (I moved to a new school a couple of times) is just to be friendly and open to everyone.
