NS: What career interests you?

I'm currently studying economics, but I'm still unsure what career I want to obtain.

The reason I decided to pursue economics is because I'm interested in how the world operates and it seems like a pretty versatile degree.

Not knowing what you want to do in the future sure is frustrating, but I'm sure there's loads of you folks in the same boat.

Now I ask NS; what career interests you and how do you plan on reaching your goals?

none.

so i went with one i can at least make good money with.

that way i can pursue my true interests, none of which involve work.

ohh man thats weak...Im in the process of getting a PhD in chinese underwater basket weaving...much more lucrative field

something in the architecture field without actually having to get licensed but still make bank would be ideal. but the way the world is looking at this point i think returning to the ski bum life will have to surfice once i graduate.that or underwater basket weaving as previously mentioned

Pro skier, duh. But for real, making a ski business, or owning a ski shop, pretty much antyhing related to skiing.

realistically, engineering. if i could follow my heart- photography. but unfortunately its too saturated of a market for me, not a huge risk taker. maybe i'll major in mech. engineering, and take whatever photography courses I can.

Something environmentally related. My major is environmental sciences, so anything in that field would be awesome.

*im on mobile so this might be shitty* Industrial trades, electrician. Good clean work, high paying, high demand, opportunities to work overseas (Australia, NZ, Camen islands, Bahamas just to name a few). Right now I'm working shift work at a uranium mine, 2 weeks in 1 week off (to ski bike longboard chill). I'm 21, new truck payed off, got pre approved for a brand new house which I plan on finalizing the deal next time I'm off work. So basically I'm sitting pretty good financially having zero debt and a sizable bank account AND iv only been in the trade 3 years making a little more then half of what I will when I have my ticket. Its a little hard to believe the lack of tradesmen on this site, it seems everyone thinks college or uni is the only way

I'll be graduating this december with an undergrad in finance and a minor in economics. I have two interviews this week, one as a financial analyst for a corporation, another for commercial/corporate banking. I'm most interested in asset management/private banking.

well when your school says... "BLA BLA UNIVERSITY!!!! and its totally cool if you wanna be a mechanic. now back to UNIVERSITY BLA BLA"

people get the wrong idea

The school I go to is entrepreneur-oriented, so I'll probably start a company some day. Then design and architecture is really interesting, and engineering. Soooo, maybe I'll build a car or something?

But for reals, I'm taking the Swedish Ski-Instructor class/license this fall.

DP for a major production company or starting my own production company. Going to film school next year. I've got a long way to go before I start to get decent at cinematography/filmmaking, but I'm ready to put in the effort to peruse my dreams. We'll see where it goes...

that one.

something weird. i'll end up with a degree in cellular/molecular biology and genetics with i'm thinking a biochemistry minor.

Chemist or Astrophysics i dunno why its just so god damn fucking interesting, i even kinda like the math.

Orthopedic surgery has always been the most interesting to me, although lately I've been thinking about the ENT/facial surgeon route since that's where I currently work and it's pretty damn awesome. Plus, you hardly ever have to come in for emergency surgeries so your schedule isn't as hectic and you still make piles of money.

well the mine I'm working at its actually all above ground and working on a brand new, simply put, uranium refinery where they make yellowcake. I have no exposure to radiation where I am working. There are areas of the old plant that are quite highly radiaoactive but we do receive rad training and every precaution is taken to minimize risk

engineering has nowhere to go but up. (or down, like some structures so called 'engineers' design) Certain types of engineers. A lot of the time I find it a pitiful excuse for a profession.

it's sad no one here wants to go into the trades. Such a pity that in school it was all "you HAVE to go to university to amount to anything, trades are for dumb people!". Now the trades are severely lacking in intelligence since a lot of intelligent people chose higher education instead since that was made to seem like the only viable option in school. As a result the quality of trades work has significantly and noticeably decreased.

i dont know, you get all the sights and sounds with none of the stress. you wouldnt get much credit because you wouldnt do much work, but you're still surrounded by baseball
