Hey NS, I just wanted to let you know that we are currently figuring out all the specifics for the NS Ski Movie. It will be a contest format where you send in an edit. At this point, it's still in the works, but I can promise you we're going to do our best, I am going to try and get the contest online by Friday or Saturday, but it will come down to Bishop since everything needs his approval. I am going to need help from you guys though!

Here is what I need:

- A Graphics Artist, to make the front cover and other stuff

-Editors (mainly color correctors and after effects)

-Sponsors(if your company can provide a bit of product for prizes, shoot me a pm)

-any other positions you guys can come up with

I'll also need some people to make title sequences and the intro to the movie.

Shoot me a PM or send me an email and show me your talent

I will do the bulk of the editing, but I will need help.

I am in talks with sponsors and we're trying to get some sweet prizes for the winners(skis, shwag, etc)

 
how are you gonna do this? cos if it's ns and we're a community, and the pros already have the opprotunity to have lengthy segments, then who can or can't be in it? how long will each person's flash of fame be? yanno? i just don't know how you can make this work... i'm all for seeing it happen though
 
ok ok ok...dont worryyyyy....this is all being taken care of...its just a test run to see if it can work...next year it will be more complex and the mistakes we make this year will be fixed....i need people to fill in the positions above thats what this thread is about, not whether it can or can't happen
 
its summer...and im bored and i live in a college town where everyone has left...and ive got an editing studio sitting in my house and its not getting any use
 
yo i wasn't trying to be negative at all. def a cool concept. nice way to showcase what and who ns is.

if you're not doing the music with the edits, then you should have people vote, or make a job title for that.
 
i know the problem with the music situation...we're going to allow people to use their own music, we're just going to ask voters not to think of the music while voting
 
Some members could make the music (I know some have a fair knowledge and talent in beatmaking) ... we could submit tracks and you would choose the best ones. That would be dope ... I mean exclusive footage with exclusive music (and yo we could make Cali P spit over the beats members make, that would be epic)

 
thats a great idea....i don't mean to shoot it down or anything, but that's an idea for next year...I'm open to taking ideas, but again, this years film will be very simple...we need to keep it as simple as possible for the first run, then as we go along, we can add stuff to it...so i definitely want to hear ideas, but lets try to fill in the above positions first, then we can take some ideas into consideration
 
I'll take the posistion of the films biggest fan who wins the prizes at the parties and gets buzzed up and kills it on the party scene.
 
If its not restricted to park footy only, I could bring a helmet cam down to lenas this summer and submit an edit.
 
I will. I just need to stop posting/thinking about it so I can not fail my finals. It's just hard cause i'm so stoked.
 
As long as we can do this next year it will be sick...i didn't get a whole lot of footy this year at all.
 
haha dude i know the feeling, im not quite as far though, got all my a levels pretty much in one week, and im counting the days to going to saas fee switzerland for a month!good luck!
 
i dont really know what you want as far as editors, but i could give it a shot. check out some of my videos to see if you think the editing is any good
 
guys, again...it's not official yet, that is just a test cult...we're gonna have something up by tomorrow hopefully
 
ive been thinkin about makin a newschoolers.com video branding for a while now, and this would be perfect for it, butttt sheeeit time is a little constrained on these parts. hell, i shouldnt eve be on this website now

i was going down some mogules (tucked them) hit a little one front flipped in the airthen slid about 50 yards

not exagerating

oh yeah then an ice chunk hit me in the nuts

and my skis didn't pop off
 
i can help with titles and editing and stuff (i talked to you before, but the thread needs a bump anyways haha). if you wanna see some stuff ive done, just PM me. and my edit for this is almost done. shouldbe up in a few days
 
God thanks for creditin me for the original thread....(sarcasm) Haha im joking i know you had the ida wayyyy before i did. But it will be sick EVERYONE JOIN THE CULT!
 
haha..it wasn't my idea...its been floating around for a long long time...I am going to try and have the Contest up by today...We've got some bad-ass sponsors too!!!...but we need more yo!!!

Hey guys, I'm not gonna have the contest up for another few days, Just trying to finalize sponsors and other stuff, but I promise that this contest will be really legit!!
 
as long as you don't make money off your edits, then you can enter, but if you are making any profit as a company, then you cannot enter an edit
