NS Surfers, I need your help.

I'm looking to buy a board. I've surfed about ten times in the past two years, just renting, and i want to do alot more this summer, hopefully going about 20-30 times. However, i don't have any money as everything i make goes towards skiing in the winter. The last time i rented, i got a 7'3" bic, which is a funboard shape, and it was just about perfect for me. I found a 7' blue hawaii board on NEsurf for $100. This is the description, "7' x 19-1/4 x 2-5/8 Blue Hawaii Surf, snapped and repaired, good for beginner." It's about two inches narrower than the Bic, but i figured i'll get used too it pretty quickly, and once i improve a bit, it'll be a better board for me anyways. I live in massachusetts, and will mostly be surfing nh and rhode island. I want a board thats big enough for me to surf on small days, but also is gonna be fun and quick. Does this sound like a good deal? I only need it to last this summer. Let me know any more information you need, I really don't know anything about surfing.
 
dont by a snapped board, even if its repaired and water-tight, the stringer is shot so if you actually weight up a nice bottom turn the board will have alot of play, just keep looking NEsurf has alot of nice boards that come up for 200, also, i know this is not really what you wanna here, but get a singe fin as your first board, you will be much happier in the long run with the way it will develop your carving and surf ability in the whole
 
ok, thanks for the advice. I guess i'll keep looking. This is pretty much the only summer that i'm gonna be surfing seriously alot, i'm moving out to utah after I graduate next year. Do you have any other suggestions about places to look for used boards? I don't wanna have to deal with the hassle of shipping etc. I've been looking on craigslist and NEsurf.
 
nah man, ive never tried looking for a board online...you might wanna hit up shops, alot of them buy and sell used boards for reasonable prices, and they throw in alot of free-bees too...thats your best bet right there
 
i wouldny buy a board offline, especially if that is the description, jsut hit up some surf shops and buy a cheap board, a longboard would be easier to learn on, but short boards are better if the waves are bigger
 
yeah i ended up getting a 6'8" funboard, used once with two super small dings that i fixed with suncure. 150$, craigslist is the shit.
 
goto cinnamon rainbows in NH. they have shitloads of used boards at decent prices. tell them your ability and what you like to ride and they're very good at hooking you up..
 
ps, whats your SN on nesurf?

are you the guy that said snowboarding sucks, skiing is better? that made me laugh.
 
haha, no, i didn't see that. I'm flat540, but the only post i made was looking for a board. I've been reading a bit over there though.
