Well as with every year, springtime hits, the snow melts and all the members get pissed off at us. We can take it, and hell even we have gotten tired of seeing this site over and over...

SO this is the official thread to throw out what you like, what you hate, and anything you think needs to be added to the site. Then we'll take alllll of what you say and begin building NS 08/09.

So instead of starting another hate thread on us, just cut out the middleman and let us know here.

And keep it constructive, if you're a douchebag we'll never get anything done.

I'm not sure if this is actually possible, but for the searchbar, instead of just searching thread titles, could it also search the first post for the keywords? I often forget the title of a thread, but can remember what it is about, so I think this would be a pretty useful feature, which would also lessen the amount of reposts.
 
Search Bar should search through threads.

Embedding videos should be possible WITHOUT the fancy editor.

Make it possible to post png's.

Searchbar fixage..like stated above......imbeding pix would be way easier.....embeding videos would be as easy as just posting the html code.............being able to see who friended you.........thats about it......oh and a little thing that says you have msg like along with the sidebar like a counter thing sumin like inbox(1) or something
 
I don't like the feature like this. Because then you still have to wait for lazy leaders to completely boot you. You should just be able to quit, end of story.

And there should be a better way to sort through your PMs.

And the cult #'s need to be fixed as well.

I feel like networking could be benefited by having the home mountain spot in members profiles linked to other members from the same home mountain. Occasionally I spend time searching for people from certain mountains (hoping to find somebody to ride with, trying to contact somebody I met on the snow, etc.), but can't find them because of limited searching/networking abilities.

However, I also think that such a feature could be rather facebookish and stalkerish, which would an unfortunate addition to NS.
 
i think the clock saves some confusion, if you dont like the 24 hour clock just remember to -2

refine the searchbar so it can search for keywords.

fuck the good buyer/seller thread, we need a comment section in a person's profile for it or something

It'd be nice if you didn't have to search for words in order. "rossi 174," "174 rossi" "rossignol" would produce the same hits ya know? Also it'd be really helpful to extend the search feature to the first grey post as well. So many times i'll remember the content but i can't remember the seemingly impossible title it was given. I.e i remember a pair of sick goggles but it was titled "dope sale!"

Organize pms-

the view message exchange between members is nice, but sometimes i'll forget a message or have to search back a page or 2 or 3 cause i messaged someone else in between. The perfect set up would be: under the message tab, have a list of every member you've messaged. And instead of having a long list of messages put the most recent names first. To the right of their name have liek a number of messages or somethin and bold the number when there's a new one. kinda like email. Then when you click on the number it brings you to the message exchange. Idk how site design or code works, but to me that'd would be alot more user friendly

Good sellers/ buyers version 2-

the thread is 30+ pages long and a bunch of members have changed there name which makes it pretty difficult to keep track of who is legit and who's a shady bum. I think its important with all the %*&*&%&*&* is a SCAMMER threads poppin up lately. If each member had their own lil feed back tab in their profile that'd be perfect. like pics, vids, threads, feedback............other members could post in there like a news article, blog, or something. It'd make searching alot easier and buyer friendly.

Ads-

I sadly run an ad plugin for ns. I got rid of all the obnoxious ones. The one that makes beeping noises till you scream, the seizure ads, find your college hookup, google ads on the side, random Adidas adds on the front page, and most of the ads that cover the beautiful header up top ....... I know this site needs money to run thats why i'm not too worried. Just some of the adds are obnoxious. It'd be baller if you guys brought in a lil more industry support. ( i know that is easier said than done)

Overall i still love the site, thanks and word up

 
Oo and to add i think the signing with Adidas is pretty neat. thats not what i meant by random, i just think the ad locations seem to be haphazard
 
a feedback thing in ur profile instead of the good buyers/sellers list. but make it so that u can give permission to the person before they post stuff. like before u make a trade or something give them permission to write only 1 msg in ur feedback so it doesnt get full of negative feedback.

Yeah, but negative feedback helps you decide whether or not you want to do business with that person. So if it's full of negative feedback, then oh well. Learn to do better business.
 
I donated to NS over 3 weeks ago and havnt heard nething back. So maybe fix that up a bit.
Also the mass messaging in the cults. Its a little funky. The links dont work and you enters dont show up and such.
Besides that ns is fun!
 
some searches only have 50 results come up with shit only going back a mont, if you could have searches show all threads relating to what was searched that would be awesome and less reposts

I often browse through the forums using multiple tabs to open multiple threads simultaneously. This gets kinda confusing and I get a bit lost sometimes. I know a lot of other forums have the thread title as the top thing (what's it called) which makes it a lot easier. For example, the tab I'm on right now says 'Newschoolers.com - Freeskiing's Online Community'. I think it would be cool if it said '"NS SUCKS ASS! (the suggestion thread)" - Newschoolers.com', or whatever the thread is.

Perhaps not well clarified but I think its a good idea.

Another feature I noticed today on a college forum, was a link in each person's profile, to display the last x number of posts by that person, selected in a dropdown box. I think this, or a public display of My Threads would be cool.
 
What's with the no new wallpapers? Seriously guys! There have been like 4 sick homepage pics, and NONE have become wallpapers. Wtf is up?
 
yeah, wall papers, fix the podcast so it works on zunes, searchbar searching into threads, thats really it, maybe BRING BACK NS CHAT?!
