I think the contest is a great idea, but the movie...meh not so much. I really hope you took into account that edits are going to come in with shots at different frame rates, PAL, NTSC (23.97, 29.97) Formats, 1080i60, 1080p30, 1080p24, XdCam, P2, DV, HDV, ....I dont know, I don't see a film with a bunch of random edits really fitting together in a movie that will have any flow or form. I like the idea of the contest though. There is so much potential for a film like this, I just feel the approach should be different then everyone send me your edits, and put it together in a 20 minute montage edit, of the original edits we can watch seperatly. There has to be some exclisivity.

And if you do collect the footage seperately and Dave you are the only editor, your going to have a heck of a time working through all that footage, and formatting and resizing it all, and getting a timeline with the same frame rate! Best of luck though.
 
i see it working out well if it's in the sequential edit format like the old VG "Battle My Crew" rollerblading videos.
 
this is why I asked people to read the rules before saying anything...it clearly states that the top 5 edits will be redone according to NS movie guidelines...this means they will be completely different from their original edit
 
you didn't say it in the rules, any certain fonts or text colors you want us to use? is there any certain ways you want the edit to end with a fade to black or something like that? also should we list song names and artists?
 
this is gonna be real sick. i think i'm gonna make an entry and even if i don't make it it will still be so sick to see all of the edits and everyones ski, film, and editing skills.
