Ns should host torrents of all the old ski movies

i think that ns should host torrents of every ski movie made before two years ago. i figure that the ski movie companies can't be making much money on these, and it'd be a good way to preserve our sport's history.

NS only has ~ 10 rules, and that's one of them. Check out the thread 3 above this one:

"Contains links to a site promotes the illegal downloads of ski industry material"

HAI GUIZE I LOVE THE SKI INDUSTRY, BUT SUPPORTING IT IS JUST SO DAMN EXPENSIVE! DOES ANYBODY HAVE STOLEN SKIS, OUTERWEAR, OR ANYTHING ELSE THEY CAN GIVE ME? I WOULD APPRECIATE IT!

all I have left on VHS is old ski videos, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Bambi. Good stuff that Bambi.

that would actually be a decent idea. There's no way you can buy a copy of movies like Blizzard of Aahhs or The Good The Rad and The Gnarly. And there's no way anyone can still make money off a movie from the 80's so why not have them available to download for free? If someone wants to convert their old vhs into digital and upload it that would be sweet. A feature length video section would be awesome.

We've tossed around the idea with several producers to create an on demand listing full of ski movies. Some liked the idea and some don't. We just haven't received anything yet to start populating the channel. There are a ton of old movies out there we'd love to see get online, and we'll see what we can do to get the process started

As Chris said we haven't had a ton of success yet, but its starting. We are workign on populating the 'ski movies' channel in NSTV.

You can watch Wicked there from SAS Films. Do note though that we're working on it!

That is the idea of NSTV. Instead of buying old movies, you can watch ads and get 'em for free.

Lol at all the people getting uptight about torrenting ski movies. How much music have you illegally downloaded? How many movies have you watched online for free? How would it possibly hurt the ski industry to download a movie that nobody can/will buy anymore?

This. Past 2 years is a little short though... it should be at least 5 years, with the permission of the producers of the films. There are tons of ski movies out there before my, and many other NS'ers time and it would be sick if we could get to watch older movies to get an idea of the progression of our sport.
