NS ravers?

Seeing skrillex saturday. I live in manhattan so there are a lot of rager opportunities even though I'm not really that into it.
 
went to one on Saturday in Pittsburgh. was also at the new years rave in pittsburgh and both were insane
 
Same here. The Tunnel, Sound Factory, Twilo, The Limelight, dirty warehouses, Roseland. Many good times were had.

definitely not a rave, but I work at the local venue during events known as "DubNation", which is just some of the biggest dubstep artists in the game doing shows to a bunch of people tripping on X and molly. its a fun job.

rusko is monday, and excision is like april or something, skream and benga tomorrow in DC, and a bunch of other show's inbetween

is stuff like hard fest and ezoo a rave? cause thats the type of shit I'm talking about. Everyone around me calls that raves.
 
it can be said that i love my little pieces of paper and bits of brightly colored, embossed candy. i can definitely say i love loud noises and bright lights. i can also say that i even own a pair of gloves with led lights. people have said that i like raver chicks a lot. and finally i can say i love the sweaty dark atmosphere of a dub/electro show.

but fuck no im not a raver.
 
I can't stand rave kids. But I'll go to raves and electronic shows. I just won't wear lenseless wayfarers, a shit load of glow sticks, light gloves, Rave braceletss, or suck on a pacifier for 4 hours.
I enjoy raves and the girls there, but I go in a t shirt and jeans, because I'm not a fuck head.
Sorry for the negativity I just can't stand kids like that, they get in your face all sweaty and shit, and their pupils are saucer sized and they're chewing on their teeth asking if you have any special K or if you can give them a back rub.
I am not degrading the drugs, or the scene, and trying to not generalize because I enjoy a rave and shows like that but yeah you get the point.
 
I was just curious to see who of the community does. I think most electronic shows count other than like massives like EDC or something of that ilk. And I totally get the not liking the scene or people necessarily but digging the shows, thats how a lot of people are and its totally chill. I don't think you can really take northeast calling Skrillex not a rave seriously as he seems to just be hating here. PLUR
 
i wish i could go to a rave!! i just havn't figured out where one is!! are they in clubs or somethin?? the closest thing to a rave ive been to is deadmau5 and then deadmau5 for a second time. I rolled fucking hard both so i think that counts as raving and there were some rave looking kids there too
 
Not trying to defend it, because I think it's stupid as hell, but a side effect of ecstasy is bruxism (basically clenching your jaw really tight), so kids will suck/chew on a pacifier so they don't break their teeth.
 
Pretty much this.

I enjoy mol and lsd. I enjoy loud music and bright lights. I enjoy dancing with fly girls.

I don't enjoy random people in my grill. I don't enjoy the sketchy pill trade at raves.
 
raves are underground. you don't buy tickets to a rave on stubhub or ticketmaster, and you certainly don't get checked at the door for drugs.
 
I've been to a few of the mountain raves around Bozeman, this summer I went to Hullabaloo this summer and went to a warehouse rave on Halloween. It's definitely a much different feeling when you're a few hours out of town and everyone's there for the night, sitting around the campfire with everyone on drugs feels like a real primitive bonding experience.
 
Never called Skrillex a straight up rave, it definitely is a show, but it can be called a kind of rave EDC is a festival for sure, its a massive, so i don't know if you could call it necessarily a rave, its as close to one as a skrillex show is, raves are what were talked about above, underground, warehouse stuff
