NS Photos Not Getting As Much Love?

Just a observation...

It seems that this season thus far, or maybe ever since the Homepage got updated, photos are not being interacted with as much as they used to. (Not just my photos, but everyone's)

I feel in seasons past that solid photos would often get upwards of 60-70 up votes or more and often a handful of the community would be commenting and posting their thoughts on the photos.

Recently it seems that people are still posting super solid photos (IMO) and getting up votes in the teens and maybe a comment.

I know it's not all about having the most likes and comments, but it is nice to hear criticism or appreciation, which I feel I don't see as much anymore.

Are there just less people interacting on NS as whole?

Are the photos just getting less interaction due to a homepage layout/algorithm? i.e. photos on the right side.

Maybe myself and the other photogs are posting mediocre content???

I feel like, since all the paid advertisements that most people never wanted to see used to be on the right hand side, people have gotten used to not looking at that side. I've found myself doing this and I'm trying to change to look at the photos but its hard and I keep forgetting to check it out
 
I always look at photos. I don't get why people don't up/down vote them. I don't even open them if they look cool I press the upvote button. Simple as that
 
Didn't even realize photos are on the right now and im on here everyday haha.

Personally I don't like the layout for that at all.

I think the new layout is way better than the old one. thats just my opinion though. You can always go back to the old version
 
I think the photo page is poorly set up. I think there could be more coverage on the home page to draw more attention to photos. I also think there should be buttons to scroll to the next photo or go back to the previous photo. But I know nothing about code and should probably keep my mouth shut on that. I just think there's very creative and talented photographers on NS that should get more credit.

Well the point is for the general user. So I could change back to the old page but the average person ( the masses) aren't going to do that.

So to have pictures secluded to the side doesn't put them out there for most to see. The people in this thread take notice because it's Media and Arts and they are passionate about their work.

The majority of users don't notice and aren't going to speak up on this.
 
I'm not sure why that seems to be happening. Maybe it's a lack of quality? Literally my first post of the season got photo of the day then photo of the week right after. Compared to last year where I got 5 upvotes. Only thing that changed for me was my content quality.
