NS Military?

Im in the Army 12B (combat engineer), E3, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Currently deployed to FOB Shank Afghanistan. Sappers clear the way.

False.

I dont even know where to start, but there is a big difference between a commission and non commission. While Sgt is technically a lower rank than an officer cadet, the Sgt is paid more , respected more and knows more.

If you joined in HS, your pay would transfer over...so when you commissioned from an NCO to an officer cadet, you keep your pay scale ...so you actually get paid more.

The knowledge you gain as an NCO is invaluable to life as an officer, officers who were NCO are paid more (due to pay scales) and respected more (generally) plus, officer training is a breeze after an NCO leadership course.

If you think the military is for you, I would say join as early as possible. My brother will be retired with a full pension before he is 50 and have several transferable skills.

My credentials - QL6A MCPL (Ret.) Medical

Yeah but if you join with credits you can potentially go in as an e-3 which is equal to a e-1 in the military for 18 months. If you have the right bachelors and grades then officer is a choice. So not sure why you said he was false?

Air Force active duty E3. 1A2(loadmaster) once I complete my training I will be flying out of McChord Washington

Im still deciding if I wanna reenlist or get out. I still got like 2 years. If I could deploy come home for like 3 months deploy again and keep that cycle I'd never get out. Garrison life is a killer. Especially as a combat engineer just end up on details or training on shit youll never do in combat. Stupid ass dwell time.

Isn't 20/150 bad? I always thought it was what most people can see in 150 ft you need to be 20 ft away to see it. I'm pretty sure that's how it works, look it up.

yea 20/150 sucks balls

Currently in the supplementary force, but spent just over three years (16-19) as an infantry reservist here in Canada with the Black Watch. So far its been the greatest learning experience of my whole life, and sometimes I really regret not seeing through my original plan to go on tour.

Much respect to anyone who serves or has served -- no matter what force or trade.

I have a ton of friends flying out of there. Fortunately for you many of them are attractive females. Unfortunately for you they are also officers.
