NS media player is garbage

I'm sorry but it is. Always has been. I'm usually able to avoid it, but there's just so many videos that are through NS and not Vimeo or YouTube.

Last night it took my like 2 hours to watch a 35 minute video. And it's been like that ever since I've started watching videos on NS.. which was long before I even created an account.

No matter what device, browser, wifi, whatever.. it's just not great. Super slow

Link to video?

Why does it take so long? Just loading? Does it freeze? Give us some info so we can help, tell us whats going on, dont just say its garbage.

Loading. Any and every video. It just takes so much longer compared to Vimeo, YouTube, or anything really

Please help us out here, go to a video, see if it works, if it doesn't please post the link, mostly curious about this 35 min video you were watching that didnt work. Is it the NS player or the TEN player?

TBH nothing will change if you don't give us more info, ie your OS, browser, how old is your computer? These are all important things we need to know. There has to be a reason why this happens, all NS videos load fine for me, they load fine for most people it seems, but we have a few outliers we need to figure out, like you.

Pretty sure it was the NS player.

It was Tanner Halls Ring the Alarm. Does the same thing for every video though, like BE Inspired, or even shorter ones like "Condor the Musical" that's on the home page right now.

I usually use Safari, but I've noticed a similar problem while using Chrome. I have a newer MacBook Pro. Bought it new about a year ago.

100% realize that there is problems with the player. The problem is that they aren't consistent... works absolutely like a charm for tonnes of people, but is a total failure for others. Every time we think we've sorted it out, something changes on the internet and we're back to figuring it out.

Here's a question - can you recall watching a video on the newschoolers player that worked just dandy... or has it actually been a complete failure for years?

The more information you can give us the better, this is probably pretty solveable... the internet just updates all the time and problems crop up which we don't catch.

From what I remember, they've always failed. But maybe they've worked if I've watched them at my friends house on their device?? Maybe it is just my wifi with that player. I'll do some more experimenting to give you guys more info.

But also, like I said, I usually use Safari so I just tried Chrome and every page on NS came up as a 404 error.

There's some errors right now because we just deployed beta to production. So we need to hunt them down.

There is definitely an issue on certain wifi though - I've seen it at my house, but it isn't consistent. I totally believe you that you're seeing issues but we're having a helluva time figuring out what is wrong for a few people.

I have the same problem, although mine is not all the time. It works on my homes wifi but not with my full bars of LTE and any other wifi. One specific one I've had problems with was bro beans v2 from Mac forehand. Can't remember any that worked great off the top of my head but there is definitely an amount to it. 70/30 fail work? My platforms that I use is on an iPhone se on the app (love the app by the way I use it more than the website on any other platform) and on my PC running windows 8.1 on chrome it's about the same connected to my houses good wifi or anything else. Hope this helps at all... can send screen grabs and etc if needed just let me know what and when.
