After going through the mag, I quickly spotted photos of some skiers I knew and photos from a photographer I know. I told them they were in the magazine and they had no clue.

It's truly a magazine built on user created content, which means you might be in it.

You should definitely get yourself a copy. I've gone through it several times already. It's packed with the years best photos, Q&A's, articles, and VIDEOS?! (via QR codes). Not to mention the ads are awesome, some of my favorite I've seen in any magazine.

NS, Grind Media, and Source Interlink Media did an incredible job getting this together, and I'm stoked for the future issues. Get a copy while you still can.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. It's so damn good. Cheers to all that are involved. I love the member sourced concept too, so smart.
 
Yeah sorry, its a bit of a hack with the way the store works. Look closely for the Canada packages and we'll ship it straight to you nice and cheap.

it will also be on newsstands in Canada, and we have some at the office for anyone in the MTL area.
 
yeah i figured it out. theres a link to "cheaper shipping for canadian addresses" that takes you to the US page, you gotta scroll down further and use a different link...
 
This was such a huge reason that we wanted to do this, and felt it made sense for Newschoolers. The idea of seeing yourself in Print is just so unbelievably cool - plus it pays a lot of respect to the talents of the people who create the content.

What is going to be really fun is shaping this for next year. We're already doing it now with the content we create for Newschoolers and the votes we assign. I just love this idea, that we can shape this thing as a living, breathing entity.

Anyway, I'm really happy you like it. There is a lot of people that put a ton of effort into making this project happen, and happy readers is all we could ever ask for.

What I'll be really curious to hear is the non-core Newschoolers member reaction to it. There's tonnes of people out there who wont' have seen any of that content, and it would be like reading the highlights over the last year.
 
The people getting it right now were on the super early list, the rest of them will begin showing up in about two weeks.
 
lol read the agreement when you sign up, anything you post on NS becomes assets they can use to their profit. they already make money off the content you post because of ads.
 
Jason got in contact with every photographer that had a shot in the magazine. If they didn't get back to him their photo didn't make the cut
 
...and obviously some editorial decisions had to be made. And while some were quite obvious that they weren't going to make the cut, the Jon Upton photo was debated longer than most rejects.
 
my shot's small but there! stoked, thanks NS... after a decade on the site it's rad to see something concrete from my hours logged on here.
 
Haha yeah. I doubt sports illustrated or espn/whoever owns the tanner photo would be happy if that was published in a mag. I bet that was a hilarious convo though.
