I've been out of high school for over a year now and have attended a semester of college at UAA, but I've been looking at colleges for future schooling to study sharks (when I decide to go back) and paramedic school. I've been looking at UBC, Long Island University - Southampton College, San Diego State, UCSB, UCSC, UCSD, some international ones in Australia and New Zealand, etc.

god im such a nerd, im defending my nerdlyhood.... i have 3 ap classes, 2 honors classes, the two honors classes i have to take. my english grade hasnt been sent it yet, if its an A, ill have a 4.8, if its a B, ill have a 4.6. my cumm (that looks funny) is 4.3ish, but itll be higher end of this year. and this is especially amazing because i do absolutely nothing for school.

I'm sorry. I'm sure that you guys are smart to be getting good grades, but that is some bass fuckin mambo grade inflation goin on. What the fuck are schools doing handing out 4.8s? That's just bullshit. What's the deal? Is is no child left behind or something?

I'm homeschooled. I have what you guys would consider AP classes, but they don't count for anything extra because they aren't validated as AP by the state.

Seems to me that nobody wants to hurt little Billy's feelings by giving him an F, but they also don't want to hurt little Jimmy's feelings by giving him an A when he worked twice as hard as Billy. So they just give Billy a B- and Jimmy an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ So they don't get pissy phone calls from parents who's dumbass kids fail.

yeah id have to agree, id like it much more if it was out of a 4.0 scale, but theres people in really basic classes that can get a 4.0, and others in AP and honors classes, if they got A's, and got the same grade, it wouldnt seem right, unless colleges considered what classes were taken much much more, which i think they should do.

UVA is harder then Duke, Yale, Brown, and other prestigous schools if you are from Maryland. I'm friends with 6 guys that go there who play lacrosse who didn't break a 1300. The valedictorian of my senior class got in to the preceeding schools, but was rejected from UVA. Now on rare occasion you can get in for a wierd major like engineering, bur as a general rule you have to be lucky to get in.

To the kid that was bragging about getting a 34 on his act's, my friend Mark, got a 36(perfect score) his freshman year, started on varsity football that year and varisty baseball and has carried a 4 point all through highschool. So shut up already.

^^^Dude, I wasn't trying to be an asshole by saying that you won't get into UVA, you just won't get into UVA. I have a buddy who has 2gen of alumni from there, 14 something sat, and damn good gpa, he didn't get in. My cousin barely got in for instate, and she is pretty smart. So I just don't want you to build up denial like I did, thinking that you can get in, because it won't happen. Sorry.
