NS i need dog help

So my family has two dogs, one (Steve) we've had for a little more than a year (since he was a puppy) and another (Jim) whos like ten months old we've had for five months.

Recently (last night) jim attacked steve and it was a shit show. today he attacked him four separate times. Like crazy dog fight attack, i got bit and shit, its not good. So my question to NS is this, any experience with this type of thing where a nice dog snaps and goes bloodlust on his best dog-friend's ass?

By the way Jim is a pit lab mix and steves a retriever lab mix. good input wanted. thanks all
 
I never had a dog snap on another dog but I did have a dog that went insane. Everytime we left the house the dog we destroy shit. So we took the dog to a dog therapist (not cheap). It ended up that our dog had some sort of seperation anxity when we left the house. It ended up getting so bad to the point where the dog would hurt it self destroying stuff when we were gone, so we werent really given any other option than to put it down.

But your case sounds different, I would say if there is any other incident like that take it to a dog therapist. Other than that I'm not entirely sure what it could be.

Can't decide who is alpha. I've also heard that pit bulls will be the nicest dogs, and then one day just suddenly turn on people. Could be the same case with other dogs.
 
yeah i can't really help your problem but i was watching some guy on TV (discovery or animal planet i forget which one) who trains dogs or whatever and a case like this happened.

they were fine for a whiloe then one snapped and went crazy. it never stopped they kept attacking each other so the fam had to separate the two dogs in the house. then this trainer guy stepped in but the ultimate outcome was they had to give the aggressive dog up and get a new pup.

i think the episode's online i'll search for it.
