NS, Help me pick a watch

This past summer I worked my ass off and made some cash money. Now I'm looking to make some moves in the classy department by getting a sweet watch. Right now I'm looking at this Burberry one:http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/burberry-leather-band-watch/3063885?origin=category&resultback=2544

I'm looking for something with a larger face since I'm fairly big (not like in the sense of gaining weight, but like, colossal). I know there are some classy NS'ers out there so lets see what you guys have.

tacky as fuck. or 600+ dollars you can buy a watch from a company that actually has a pedigree for making timepieces instead of some gaudy shit like that.

Do you have any suggestions. I looked at some Tag's and really like the Carreras but they're like $3200+

Bell and ross BR 01-92 Carbon... if you can handle it.

Look at watchuseek.com its basically the newschoolers of the watch world minus NSG...in the buy/sell forums there's killer deals. I ended up getting a $700 dollar watch for $260. Paneri make big watches but are really expensive. There are some good "clones" though that still have swiss movements and quality materials.

man every time theres a thread posted about watches there guaranteed to be some fuck that posts a pic of a bell and ross watch. no one can afford those things haha they are dope as fuck but there is really no point in posting them

In all honesty, I would stay far far away from those designer brands like Burberry and Gucci etc... they use their name to jack up the prices on average quality pieces. If you're going for something classy, I would start browsing some older Omega classics on ebay etc... you can find some beautiful automatic watches for great prices on ebay and such. And definitely look into an automatic watch, as I will never wear a quartz again.

I know. They are siiiiiiiiiick as fuck. My brother saved up for a year to buy one. I didnt know how much money exactly he had, so I though why not go for it. Oh well

go vintage omega, can't go wrong there.

I have a pre-war longines that was my grandfathers, and the feel of vintage watches is amazing, the feel of the spring as you wind it up, and the pronounced tick it makes as it runs.. awesome.

Thanks for all the help guys, +k for sure.

What are your thoughts on color? I really like the brown bands, and feel like I can wear brown with almost anything, except maybe a suit.

your accessories must all match, so if you have a brown watch, you better be wearing a brown belt and brown shoes.

that being said, brown goes with more things than black in a more dressy sense. it works with blues and greys and browns and most colors, but black works well too, so i guess its really up to your personal preference and your wardrobe.

i have an ltd rubber player and i llove it, get a ton of compliments, but its not really like a formal watch. I wear the rubber player to school most days, but I also have a swiss watch that i like. Also, if he were to go for nixon, i think he would want something more like a banks or a 51-30 or a magnacon
