NS Help Me Customize a MacBook

So for a graduation present my grandparents are throwing down and buying me a laptop for college. Money isn't that big of an issue (but i don't wanna spend a huge amount) Ive came to the conclusion that i want a Macbook Pro. In the apple store there is a page full of upgrades that they offer you such as Processor, Memory, and Hard Drive upgrades. I plan on using the computer for a lot of HD Video editing so i'm gonna want a faster overall computer. So what i'm really trying to get at is there any upgrade that is essential that i should add?

Then, pickup the 512gb lacie thunderbolt SSD external drive when it drops in august for videos and you'll be set.
 
Ya but don't buy it from Apple. Get a basic computer with the screen and CPU you want online with the education discount. Then go to macsales.com and upgrade RAM and harddrives to your liking. They also offer rebates on your parts, so I recently upgraded to 8GB of RAM for $100, sent in my 4GB unit for $27, and walked away with a pretty reasonably cheap upgrade.
 
hes saying you should upgrade all three but if you have to choose one than upgrade the ram, if you have to choose 2 upgrade the ram and cpu, but if you can do it all that would be good too.
 
funny, i edited dvcproHD 720p/1080p footage on my old ass macbook pro from 2006. You don't NEED the fastest computer, but it definitely is nice.
