NS Golf

A couple tournament 70’s and a low of 67 when I was younger. Shot a 71 last season with 6 birds lol. Consistency is tough once you have kids and can only play once/twice a week.

There’s no better job than at a golf course in the summer.

Besides playing, I do love that its the time of year where us course maintenance guys get into work around 6am and get out around 2:30pm if you want, but extra hours are calling cuz of money.

SLC homies: What are good muni's in the valleys? I want to go check out Mountain Dell at some point.

Mountain Dell is great, but I'd say Bonneville is my favorite SLC city course, there are county courses as well and Old Mill is probably my favorite of those.

Outside of gov't owned golf courses, Stone Bridge is on of my favorites in SLC, Eaglewood in North Salt Lake is good, Thanksgiving Point and Talons Cove on the south end of the valley are great tracks too.

Been golfing a lot recently for the first time since I was like 10. I forgot how addicting it is to hit a good shot I've got the bug. Been going to this par 3 course a few towns over like once a week since its super cheap and fun. I was +4 through 8 last week and fell apart on 9 and ended +8. Such is life.

I've actually never played a par 3 course. At least that I remember which means nothing. Love skying one onto the middle of the green. Always feels good.

My technique is hit or miss and I'll straight crank something into the woods once in a while but I play pretty decent still considering I get 1 or 2 rounds in a year. I think the most golf I played in a year in the last 10 was maybe 7 rounds. So not a lot. Still there though. Trying to get out and hit the course near me before I head back down to OR for the summer. Maybe I'll bring my clubs out west sometime. I think having my clubs would make me play more often.

I could probably use some new stuff but I play so rarely , fuck it.

Played in our department's spring golf outing last week. Myself and a teammate both took the long drive contest wins, another guy took a closest to the pin contest, and we finished 2nd overall at -10.

Anybody in the Seattle area that wants a vintage leather Ben Hogan golf bag? It’s in great condition. Can sell for a low price

Please seriously give daps to your maintenance crews if you see them. This heat out west is fucked. Or just any crew. They bust ass harder than you think for ungrateful fucks who have shit golf games and blame their dogshit ability on our top notch upkeep. I want to run machines and not fix your fucking ball marks or divots cuz you're lazy.

Also private clubs are shit. This one member offered to take us to a local brewery that he's a shareholder in and I'm like A: shittiest brewery in PC, and B: Pony up the cash for a proper main street night you cheap fuck

I double bogey every hole, incredibly consistently. Just picked it back up this year. Don’t want to play too much to improve, but it’s a nice game to have to spend more time hanging out with friends who aren't as rad

think my best round is like a 102, getting fitted for clubs this week tho, moving on from junior clubs should hopefully help. 27ish handicap- coming down however.

shot my second best score every today, +3 74 with 3 birdies on the front, it was a fun round /flex

I have a stock shaft that comes with the Callaway Mavrik Max, if you want to pick it up from me, it’s yours for free. Or I can ship it out to anybody if they just pay the shipment cost.

Shot a 96 today, which accomplishes my 15+ stroke improvement goal for the year since I was shooting near 115 when i started. It was an easy course, but stoked to get my first birdie in over a decade

Played through high school and on the D1 club team at University of Iowa, used to be a stick but shot a 93 this week which is my worst since i started. Came back with a 74 yesterday but golf prices in Summit County have killed me. Stay consistent fellas... Would you rather shoot consistent 70s or be able to lace a cork 9 tail every time?

Started gearing up for Spring. I shot a 79 once last summer, and my goal this year is to post a 78 or better at least once.

This was one of my favorite approach shots I've ever hit, because if you look closely in the photo, you can see the spin I had on this shot. Haha!

What did everyone think of full swing?

Fun show. Stoked to learn some of those guys stories. Joel was my favourite. His line "someone has to be the 70th best player on the PGA so it may as well be me" was perfect. Got sick of the LIV hate though Jesus Christ. DJ has the best look on it when he said "if you got offered a job that paid you more and you had to work less, you'd take it.". Love it.

Kinda miss Turfcare honestly. Ripping those fairway mowers and striping fairways is so satisfying. Sidewinder Toro's are my shit though. Fuck, I might have to get a golf course job this summer again and actually learn how to play. Mowing greens is so fucking hard and is truly a form of art. It is so fucking hard lining up that mower.

Loving it so far. One of my favorite scenes was in the second episode I think, where Colin, John & Rory are just sitting at a table after a round and chilling. These dudes are all like us in one way or another

practiced on my highschool's sim a little this winter, all my clubs are good except my new driver, i can't hit that shit at all. everything is either dead right (a pull as a lefty) or popped straight up.

Haven’t golfed since they closed down the golf course I use to go (since I was 5) which was about 2 years ago. I should probably get back into it since I actually enjoyed playing:)

The way I "fixed" this problem was to stand up taller, back away from the ball slightly, and line the ball up with the inside of my knee of the front leg. Obviously with a driver you'll still have some misses but this might help you out. Pay attention to your swing path too

Thanks! Will try it out this spring, or like next week since winter is already over in michigan

Whos everyone have for masters?

Most excited for fellow lefty Canadian Mike Weir teeing off first on Thursday.

Shot an 86 last summer but usually i sit low to mid 90s. fucking love golf, only person youre playing against is yourself

10.9 handicap currently. Used to play growing up, just recently (3/4 years ago) started getting back into it. Best round ever was a +3 74.

Just installed this in my backyard. So much work but well worth it fun to just tap around.
