NS Gathering/Camp out this June

The past couple years me and some Great Falls kids have been going down to the Beartooths in mid June to ski. We usually run into other skiers from around the area that are pretty chill. I think it would be sick to set up a weekend this June where a bunch of NSers and other skiers/boarders in the area could all go down to beartooth for a weekend and ski together and camp out. I know of a few good camping spots and places in Red Lodge with cheap lodging. It would be a great opportunity to progress and get to know other people in the state. If we have 8 or more people we could also get discounted tickets. I was thinking the weekends of June 14 or 21 would be the best. if anyone is interested or has any other ideas post here.

If you haven't been to the Beartooths, there is a small ski are with 2 poma lifts that builds a small terrain park and lots of sick backcountry access right off the highway.

damn i think i deleted my beartooth edit too from a few years ago on my computer... wouldve been a good video to show everyone what its like....

i am down for this deffinitly, when i went it was one of the most fun times in my life...

Pros of beartooth IMO:

-great vibe super chill

-great terrain, steeps, bumps (when the mogul guys are there, and some nice crusing spots.

-decent progressive park

-not crowded

Cons of beartooth IMO: (this will be hard)

-not a huge park, like most ski camps pride themselves on

-when i was there the cat couldnt get to the jumps for a reason i cant remember, so we just steped out the landing every morning and the jumps turned out fine every day..

i will definately be up there to, and jewel basin. i am done with school on may 8th. i dont know how doable it is but there is a mountain north of marias pass i want to do as well
 
Earlier in June is better.

But I would love to do this, and of course you are always welcome on my parents floor, Kip.
 
Thanks Dave, you could stay hear too but there isnt really any epic skiing around, its on the way to the beartooths I guess... Pretty much any time would work for me. I was thinking later would be better for any high school kids that might go but earlier would be better snow.
 
Whoa.....Kevin Miller used to be one of my ski coaches, and I used to ski with Sam Bullington occasionally. Weird.
 
I see Kevin occasionally, but I don't think he skis at Bridger anymore. I haven't seen Sam in a few years--and I'd remember if I saw him!
 
where did our damn sticky go?? i guess they only used elmers glue stick, that shit never worked..
 
sick stuff. This should def happen. Im looking at being up at beartooth around the 1st weekend of June. Im making a big road trip from atlanta to a basin, the tetons, yellowstone and the beartooths, so it would be great if this ns gathering happens the first weekend of june.
 
i think that it could be a good thing if they werent, cuz that way it wouldnt be crowded. but at the same time they would probably have a better park if it was there.
 
They aren't running the lifts this summer due to a lack of funds. I got the email yesterday. It blows. I prob wont go to beartooth now. Planning on doing Mt Moran though.
 
Are you renting a canoe or something? Mt Moran wouldn't be my first choice for spring skiing unless you had a good way to cross the lake.
 
I'll probably make it out this year as long as the weather is good enough to pull me from hiding in the desert. Of course I'll probably be having a hard time bootpacking with my POS knee, but hey, that's what the highway and my thumb are good for.
 
ya i plan on going to some back bowls to do it, way far away from the fuzz. i just bought a contractors pack of razor blades and a new mirror so im ready to shred some mad lines
 
^nice... i just kinda want to go somewhere to build a jump or something cuz im pretty lazy and hate hiking a lot..
