NS COMPUTER VIRUS?

I had this shit in march trying to watch entourage episodes.

I got this thing called xp police antivirus. When I clicked on the video to play entourage, it downloaded it on my computer. 2 other fake antivirus programs downloaded themselves.

I could not use safe mode. They take over google and when you search for something and click on the link, it redirects you. I think you can delete it by going to my computer, program files, mozilla firefox, extensions, then you delete the one around the day you got the malware/virus. Im not 100% about this.

IF you get this do these steps:

Download malwarebytes antivirus. If you cant download it, get it on another computer and flash drive it over. Run a full scan. It is amazing seeing the icons from the fake antivirus programs disappearing from your computer when you delete the found items.

I called the windows security center. This is free. They will get you to install a program on you computer where they control your computer, and they delete everything else and clean your computer.

Also run a windows live scan. Full scan.

For the future, download superantispyware.

download no script. Its a plug in for firefox that doesnt allow thing to pop up on you. You can allow scripts from certain sites. I dont get pop ups on ns anymore either.
 
Not fixed. I got that this morning and I'm on a mac. Took a minute to realize I was on the mac not the PC and that I don't even have windows on this computer. I don't know if it could infect the computer still but I turned off my router and turned off the internet connection on the computer's side too for half an hour and I don't think anything downloaded.
That is a tricky one.
 
Here's what happened to me this morning. My Nortron Antivirus caught something called "bloodhound.exploit.382" or something close to that. I pressed fix and after 10 minutes it said it was fixed then on ns a little later something came up about the antivirus and i clicked the x it then flipped to my computer. It started downoading so i shut down the comp as fast as i could and now it seems alright.
 
later today i was on ns on my home comp and i got acouple hundred trojans and like right now im on ns on my laptop and the same thing happened but nothin got downloaded in so my laptop is fine but my home comp is all messed up
 
I got the same virus the creator is talking about but I exited quickly and I am just hoping I am okay I really don't want to go through the whole virus thing again.
 
it came through my adblock plus the other day but something is fucked up with my adblock. its blocking the baller status(gold coins) from the member list names and on their posts. no more ads seem to popping up like they were though so i can live with not seeing those coins for a bit
 
yeah the other day i got that stupid virus scanner page but i closed it without any problems. and today, firefox kept preventing a pop up on NS and i unblocked it and it was like some opinions thing and it just said that if you see this window, ignore it and continue browsing. anyone get anything similar?
 
Yeah, but those boxes can be spoofed, and it would be better to be safe since we know there's a virus.

BTW, I turned off ABP and i still cant get this to show up on NS. Is the problem fixed?

Got it again this morning. The trojan scanner one. Hmmmm I think it was the same time as yesterday too! Something fishy is going on. Turned off my router and airport and my comp seems fine still.
 
no. and i am using firefox. if i remember to screenshot quick enough before i close everything down next time ill post a screenshot

Same thing here!

I clicked on my threads, then i got a popup that said "you have malware click here to get rid of it" i hit cancel then it opened a window with a fake download and asked me if i wanted to install it; norton said it was a virus. The URL was an ad website aswell as the my threads url which it switched to. Fix this shit
 
Yeah I just got this twice in the last hour from NS, I just ctrl alt delete, task managered, and ended firefox. It's still working fine for me...knock on wood.

Also, I've gotten this plenty of times in the past, I can't remember if it was NS or not, but definitely over a month or two ago...and my computer's still fine. As long as you don't save that file that pops up, or click anything, then I don't think it does anything. But I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to this, so I might be completely off the mark.
 
I have no issue with the adds on NS, but this is just ridiculous. I just got it and it should not be happening. Not exactly stoked.
 
It just tried steering me to the page again, luckily it failed. Two times in a day. Get on this shit guys. This is really beginning to make me angry. I have no problems with adds, but once they get invasive I do.
 
Haha yeah it's not a nice idea... But nothing has been any different on my computer since the "virus scan".
 
i got it on my windows computer just a little bit ago and i didnt click on it.

I immediately disconnected my internet and shutdown. When i turned it back on nothing new downloaded.

I started my virus scan and it hasnt found anything so i think im in the clear.

Oh and t.r.e.f.a.ll.e.r is my bro so i know when this actually takes over your computer.

So if it happens to anyone else just disconnect the internet right when it pops up. DONT click on it just shutdown and reboot, then run your virus/spyware to make sure just in case.
 
There seems to be one going around Facebook lately and wondering if its related. Anyone who has been infected do you happen to remember being told to upgrade your flash player in the recent future?
 
Guys there is a HUGE chance that its your computer that is infected. Lots of times that "viruses" have popped up on NS, its turned out to be a computer that was already hijacked.

We need more info, not just "I got a virus from NS". Has anyone got the same warning on other sites? Of the people that say "no" - do you visit many other sites?

Please, we need more information, or this problem can't be tracked down.

Chris do you have some examples of this popping up on facebook? Perhaps we can also research the idea that it could be happening everywhere?

 
^ the one that popped on my computer i know was from NS.

Because i run my virus program every night and there was anything on there.

I clicked on my inbox and i got redirected and a pop up said my computer my be at risk, Luckily i knew what i was doing and my computer didnt get infected.
 
i only get the popup on ns, i havent gotten it in a while though knock on wood. i do visit many other sites and none have hadany popups like this recent virus popup that i haven encountered on ns multiple times now
 
The current malware I think it is, is not currently recognized by over half of the major antivirus programs, including norton, mcafee and avg. so just doing a virus scan is not conclusive. download malwarebytes and run that as well.

The problem is we have not been able to reproduce it on any of our systems to be able to track it down
