NS COMPUTER VIRUS?

I got onto NS today to chat away and suddenly my virus blocker told me a Trojan was trying to download itself to my computer. I was on the phone with another NS member and 5 minutes later his computer started to download a virus through his firewall and went through macafee... And basically a fake virus protector was scanning his computer but was actually downloading a Trojan. It pretty much screwed his computer and now he can no longer use his internet and scan his computer for viruses and we were both wondering if anyone else's virus blocker was active while on NS.
 
i had something similar the other day. a page opened up that took up the whole screen, it made the start bar look like windows xp cause it probably read my comp has xp installed maybe but i have the inspirat2 or something installed that makes xp look like vista, so i knew something was up. it said i was under attack and that windows updater would auto take care of the problem, and was waiting for confirmation but i rejected that shit. it had a couple fake looking folders too that were flashing and shit. it would of been legit looking to a noob on compooters but i was kinda sketched out and have been pretty careful since.
 
yea everyone should be fine. i mean i have avg and superantispyware and as long as you run them regularly you should be fine. i caught the obvious virus scan fake and hopefully if anyone else gets it, they will be smart enough to look past it and get the fuck outta there
 
basically the same thing came up with me. i was running vista, but it popped up witha xp menu with flashing folders saying something like "FOUND FOUR TROJANS!!"

"deleting trojans and other associated viruses.." it had a status bar. i knew what was up so i booked it outa that popup. and it all happened on ns... kinda sketchy imo.
 
dude you dont need to turn off your computer. as long as you didnt let it "auto download updates" or "scan" then you should be fine and its nothing but a popup.

sometimes when i am on ns i get a message saying that a pop up was blocked so i run scan about every other day
 
That might be a little over the top but idk If you think its worth it then thats cool but I get the same thing every once in a while
 
it happened to me too. im using firefox and all the sudden a window popped up saying it was going to scan for viruses and asked me to confirm so i quickly exited out and it seems ok

i was just in a regular thread, no links or anything.

also my browser just closed itself yesterday out of nowhere when i was on NS
 
A similar thing happened to me a week or two ago, i was in site discussion and there was a thread called ns virus, i tried to read the thread to see whats up and then avg popped up saying that it was a trojan. same thing popped up whenever i tried to open that thread.
 
THIS IS TRUE. i use firefox and suddenly a box popped up with a picture pretending to be my "My Computer Page" everything starting flashing and it said i had 20 trojans. i quickly got out of that screen but my computer has been running slower since then.
