The next generation in online video..vimeo!

www.vimeo.com gives you better quality, more upload space, better organization, faster upload times, better files, etc. Basically it pwns. So you all should join, and we created an NS video channel:

This is just for uploading regular videos, not for the movie contest. Check it out and be awestruck.
 
Bleh, not exactly good quality. You can upload a 200mb HD edit on there and it will compress it to like 30mb and make it look like shit. Vimeo is basically youtube with slightly better quality and better HD functions, but nothing beats uploading an .mov or .wmv directly onto a website like NS, streaming sites like vimeo and youtube just slaughter quality. Just my two cents, its a good idea though.
 
Yea, they kill my quality. Some people have mastered the art of uploading HD footage while maintaining quality though, I've seen some really sharp HD footage on their (with their special HD mode or whatever).

 
you can add them from your video. On the side of it it should say "channels/albums" or something and just click it to add it to the newschoolers channel. I added 4 videos.
 
It's still probably 1/2 the quality of just a .mov on a site.

NS should bump the limit up to 100mb...
 
you should be able to. Add the tag Newschoolers to the video and give me the link, I should be able to add it I think.
 
As long as people don't restrict it you can download the full quality upload from vimeo. Its in the bottom right corner. Best of both worlds.
 
I wasn't talking about downloading, all videos put on vimeo, are sized down so they can be streamed. I uploaded an "HD" version of an edit, not only did it take a year to upload (258mb) but it took almost as long for them to "convert" the video. They just size it down and slaughter the true quality. It's a good idea to gather videos, but i feel the NS video section is the same thing as making a vimeo channel. I don't get why we need a channel on a website when we have a website already with a videos section, just for skiing. I dunno, just me i guess.
 
Thanks mang. Im going out to Mt Hood for two weeks in July to shoot with Downey so brace yourselves for illnasties. That footage was all shot on tiny ass features for the most part. Hood is going off right now.
