with an average of 400 people connected at all times it seems, there is alot of problems. It seems like every second time I'm on here I can't login because there are too many conections.

I'm working on it guys... a few million hits a day will do that to a server. Soon we'll have our own little server cluster. ;)

I'm sure you already know this, but if you take the time to offload the sql server to another machine you can easily up apache's concurrent connections. sql's the cpu hog.

That or don't run on a celeron:)

actually antadam you'll be pleased to know we are moving to a setup with one big ass FreeBSD mysql server back-end and multiple FreeBSD apache front-ends...

very happy. just don't let those bastards screw you and put an old version of bsd on any machines. i had that happen to me w/a hosting company and am in the middle of dismantling their scrotum.
