Kinda boring so just warning you if you dont like that stuff.

Not to long ago my dad was diagnosed with cancer. It was last October and couldnt even beleive what was happening. But skiing has always been a huge part of my dads life. From skiing competitively to President of the Columbus Ski Association. In december we went a few times together but after that he just wasnt strong enough to go anymore and it was devastating to him. In the winter he would look outside while it was snowing and just cry he would say ' It s goin to be a good day on the slopes today shawn you should go'. In Febuary i took him to the slopes and i talked some workers and they let us ride to the top and we just sat up there for 3 hours and watched everyone enjoying the fresh snow. One of the greatest days on the slopes and i didnt even put on a pair of skis.

Anyway the reason i posted is becuase i got an idea a few months ago after we had watched every ski movie i own 50 times. I would go in his room everynight with my labtop and we would watch all of your videos you have posted. For that hour that we would sit and enjoy them it seemed that his pain wasnt there and i was actually helping him. Though i knew i wasnt it was good just to see him smile again. It was one part of the day he said he actually looked forward to.Time passed and now doctors tell us it spread to quickly and he is really sick now they assume he will go sometime this week. Its hard for him to even talk but the other night he wanted me to make sure I thanked all of you for the videos you posted. He said for that hour he felt like he was skiing again becuz thats as close as he could get. So thank you NS for helping my dad go in peace!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

ive had people who are close to me get diagnosed and were told they would go within the next 6 hours. that was 2 years ago man have high hopes dont let yourself get down and laughter is the greatest medicine of them all.

i was going to go for a quad daffy but i was like, why huck? -mommy

I have to agree with a lot of other people by saying your dad sounds like a really great guy. I'm so sorry for your loss, you deserve a lot of respect for being able to handle this.

ya know everyone said it a million times but i have someone close to me that has cancer and it sucks so i feel really bad and if me and the NS community can do anything to help...tell us sorry man and your dad seems really awesome...it sucks to lose someone like that

Yea there is always that hope that he might pull through but after almost 10 months hope kinda goes away and has been replaced with coping. As sad as it may be i feel worse for the kid who looses his dad on a car wreck on the way home from work. What i had these last couple months with my dad has been amazing. i really wish i could show you the look on his face as he watched some of your videos. Some nights i would have to stop becuase he would get to roughdy and hurt himself. Some people dont have that oppurtunity. He wanted to make a video thanking all of you in person but he has been to sick lately and i dont think it will be possible but if he wants we will still try. I think my grandma has some tapes at her house of him and his buddies pullin like backflips evening grabbing like late 70s early 80s. Maybe i can find those and post them. Once again thank you all for eveything you have done for me i will keep you posted on his status. I know he would want me too.
