NS adds being annoying

Someone probably already made this but...

The thing i hate most about NS is the ads that pop up before every single video. This gets very annoying to because its almost the same two every time. Is there a way we can get it back to none at all?

 
newschoolers is prolly 95% ads now and 5% content. Everytime i accidentally click off screen, or try and watch a video on the home page, it re-directs me to try and buy 10,000 things i dont need. get your shit together NS, this doesnt even look like a skiing website anymore. its like a fuckin billboard
 
I understand the necessity of advertisement, but it also is incredibly annoying that I can sometimes be 7-9 seconds into a video before it cuts to an ad for Mammoth or whatever.
 
try to watch 8 second clip.....

15 second advertisement.

it's to the point where i'm happy if i see vimeo embedded now. plus it sucks for those of us with limited bandwidth
 
fuck mammoth mountain. that ad is so fucking loud. and fuck having to watch the same video before EVERY FUCKING VIDEO. like jesus fuck. if I watch 10 seconds of a video and decide I want to watch another one instead, I shouldn't have to endure another 10 second sit through of shit.
 
FYI, if there weren't ads, there wouldn't be Newschoolers. That's the simple truth. As I'm typing this, there's only two ads on the page that are visible, and one more if I scroll all the way down.

On the flipside, I'm looking at Freeskier's Monday Morning Wake Up Call and count a total of TEN ads, not including the ad that forced me to click through before bringing me to the article.

We don't stop anyone from using adblock applications, but just know that you're basically taking potential dollars out of our pockets -- which trickles down to our members through the various content creator initiatives.

Right now, we lose about 75k from people using adblock. Imagine what we could do with that 75k if we poured it in the producer, photographer, and journalist programs? Now THAT would be cool.

 
You should add in a rule for the system that if the video's shorter than, say, 30 seconds, the ad shouldn't play. It gets annoying for short clips when the ad is twice as long as the video
 
This will sound whiny but it's my honest feedback. I stopped using the video section altogether because of the ads. When I joined, I spent 99% of my time in the video section and 1% everywhere else on ns. Now it's 99% forums and 1% video section because of the ads. I have ads on the side of my screen right now and they don't bother me 1 bit but being forced to watch the same stupid (loud) ad over and over that takes a while to load stopped being worth it unfortunately.
 
an ad option like the one on YouTube would be fantastic, where the ad can be as long as the advertiser likes, but we are only required to watch 5 seconds before a "skip ad" option appears. I was trying to watch tabarnack pack on slow internet and couldn't because I couldn't get past the ad, it would stop playing.
