im going to nozawa early 2013, tickets booked and couldnt be more stocked! whats the mountain like apart from powder? groomers, park and everything else?

Befriend the ski patrol, the most of the really good terrain is permanently roped off. They have a park, really flat and not that awesome but an awesome pipe. Their moguls are great, some really good groomers.

The village is amazing, smoke everywhere from the hot springs, looks like an old kung fu movie
 
One of the oldest ski resorts (if not the oldest?) in Japan. Beautiful traditional old village with lots of onsen to soak in after skiing. Lots of snow. Good choice of other ski areas which are pretty close to give you a bit of variety too. Enjoy!
