haha what a stupid point. We are discussing taxes, graffiti and public transit. For the record, I have live in downtown toronto, downtown vancouver, tampa florida, dallas texas and finally I spend almost all of the time I can in new york city...they have a couple of trains there. Not to mention, that since we are on the topic of "leaving the realm they live in" I've also toured accross europe skiing...they have some trains also.

Here's the deal, you and I both agree on the same thing. That kid that said "Glad MY tax dollars are going towards cleaning that up" is full of shite. That's it and thats all. The point is only for the sake of argument. Nothing further.
 
Hey, graffiti is an art form but not when its done for the purpose to be seen as a hard ass lie those kids on the bus. Its an art form when its done to add taste and create something beautiful. Thats why when i go and tag i go to the shitty areas and slums and put my creativity into giving people in those areas something visually pleasing.

^oh and i dont dislike you but inner city seattle is pretty much the suburbs in most other metropolitan areas.
 
Fine. Lets assume for the sake of argument that said transportation company is owned privately, and any cost of clean up is forwarded onto the consumer. Even if the financial end of things are absorbed into society, the act in and of itself is not acceptable.

If we were to universalize the maxim of the act as laid out by the categorical imperitve: first formulation, we would be blatently odvious that such behavior made acceptable would not benefit the society at large. Rephrased, would it be acceptable for everyone to run around tagging all things public and priviate, including YOUR car or YOUR house that YOU bought with YOUR money. Christ, just because it doesnt cost McDonalds too much if someone steals a cheeseburger doesnt make the act of stealing right...less wrong maybe, but still morally reprehensable.

So come on people, taggers and supporters alike, lets find a more productive way to expose our talents because graffiti isnt really helping anybody.

 
I think the dudes point was that a certain kid who said "glad my tax dollars are going to clean that up" is full of shit. Thats all.

My point is that its not fair to do anything, graffiti or otherwise to property that is not yours. If i covered the house you live in with my gang symbol i think you'd be pretty pissed off.

Im not saying these kids dont have some sort of tallent, just the way that they are chosing to utilize their skills is a worthless and selfish endevor.

someone said it earlier... although it may not cost you, personally, a ton of money to repair, it does cost someone. just because you don't have to pay for it does that make it ok? i think graffiti looks cool as hell, but it is irresponsible and it does destroy someone else's property. the analogoy has been brought up... just think if you walked out to your driveway and saw the driver's door of your car covered in spray paint. you'd be pretty hot. just because the "municipality" isn't one private citizen doesn't make graffiti any better. at the end of they day, if you're spray painting words and symbols on other people's things, you are vandalizing. it's not cool.
 
i know this is old but thats what pisses me off about ns. kids believe that dectective guy owned you cause he used big words and made it seem like he knew what he was talking about. but he didn't.
 
Your an idiot too. You would have to live in that municipality for your tax dollars to fund a municipal clean up. Your federal tax money does not pay for those types of things.
