WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY!!!!!!!

Hey there! Just threw together the first edit of the year, opening weekend here up at Tahoe. Had lots of fun skiing and editing it, was my first time using the GoPro on snow. Any and all feedback appreciated!
I'm curious if you guys dig the large number of cuts to the music- I like the look of it but am not sure if it simply takes away too much of the actual skiing.
Thanks for watching.

i liked it for the most part. the music did fit but next time try and be more creative with the music choice, meaning something other than dubstep or a variation of dubstep. I liked the editing and filming for a first time with a go pro. What program were you editing with??

Haha what can I say, I really do love this song ... but yes I am most definitely choosing something completely different for the next one. Thanks man. All done on Final Cut.

haha great song. the shots came out really nice for the GoPro seems like in some edits it looks really good and others it doesn't. haha and you where right, that face shot was definitely sick

Love the song choice. edit a little more to the music.
Good gopro placement and stuff for shots.
and then yeah just go bigger and give us something to enjoy and say daaaaamn!

Just interested, you where with 3 guys, and 1 had a backpack..

You dont have/use any avy equipment?

my only suggestion is that for a couple of the shots it was angled to far towards your skis and constantly made me want to look up, IMO if you can see your boots then the cam is too far forward. When watching a edit the viewer often wants to see it as if they were skiing it and you know it would be stupid if you were skiing a face looking at your feet haha.

Nice man, the shot quality was crispy. I wasn't a huge fan of the song, but music taste is all opinion. I really liked the feel of it though, and you really did get "the fattest faceshot". Got me stoked for sure.

Hey guys, thanks for the legit and helpful responses!
@Camembert: All of this was inbounds terrain, and although, yes, you can never be too careful and avy equipment would really make me feel more comfortable, right now I can't afford either the equipment or training to use them. Def on the list though.
@stezeee: Yes, I totally agree. I am trying to get some $$ together to get a chest mount so I can get both the skis and the "environment" in the shot.
@Jibjib: Haha I appreciate how you said that, well said sir, most people tend to say "fuck dub" and leave it at that. Glad to get you stoked! I'm stoked that other people are getting stoked off it ... haha
Whether you were looking or it or not, just +K'ed all those who responded.

@Riley.C: Word, as I said I can't wait for coverage to get a little better so it's not so sketch, hopefully will throw something legit together over the holidays. Also contemplating a second camera for multiple angles .... !!

I dug the quality and the editing was pretty on key. I want to upgrade HD gopro from my reg one so this gets me stoked to get my new one. Alpine looks sick Kirkwoods been pretty good as well

solid editing and quality.

i'm not a fan of slow-mo, but thats just me. Also like someone else said, you should have the gopro tilted slightly more upright to see some more but keep the ski tips in there for frame of reference.

Hahaha sketchy coverage my ass!

Dude the cliffs were prime, you just never found them! The two big fuckers under Deer Camp were prime, and the Bernies cliffs were sick too. Actually almost all the usual cliffs were perfect.

Sick edit man, to the guy asking about backpacks, etc... i'm the one with the pack. It was all inbounds, we just had first tracks from getting first chair. And from hiking a bit.

But yes avvy gear is something i do not have but need to get... until I get it, I stay where it's safe.

@Tanner: Word, the HD ones are legit. Go for it. I'm tryna hit up Kirkwood sometime for sure, I've only heard good things.
@jca: Yeah, I guess it's more of a personal thing, nothing gets me goin like slowmo pow haha, I'll keep that in mind though that everyone has different tastes, and maybe try to change it up next time.
@powderbro: ... you wanna pay for the $40 worth of core shots I got that weekend? Both Sat and Sun I ended up with shots scraping a few mm into the wood core, both of which I received simply skiing over (as in, not landing on) rocks below the snow, on runs I am familiar with. I thought there was great coverage too initially; I thought otherwise after getting those babies, maybe I just had bad luck though. Sorry, I'm simply not willing to throw down hard and risk my skis and my bodily health until I feel confident that I won't land on anything that would seriously fuck with my skis or my body.
Don't worry man, I've been skiing Alpine for 14 years, so although I know you could show me some sick hits, I also know where the hits are that I love. I also chose to play it safe because I do zero conditioning and didn't want to go too hard after not skiing for 8 months.

fair enough. Landings were awesome on every cliff I hit though, just the rest of the hill that needed an extra push
