Not to perpetuate rumors....but Update on CR's condition

This was posted on TGR awhile ago by a trusted source. Didn't know whether to post it or not as I'm sure it was start a bunch of BS, but at least it should give those who care an idea of where CR's physical state currently stands.

"I just got off the phone with CR's mom, Lorraine. They've obviously had a whirlwind of emotions for the past few days. JT Holmes flew out there last night and delivered a card from Tahoe well-wishers. An hour later, CR's dad, Rusty, called Lorraine saying, "I put that card up on the wall and within one hour, his temperature dropped from 105 to 104!"

That's the kind of moment they're clinging to right now. Otherwise, there really isn't any good news to report. He remains in an induced coma to keep his brain functions to a minimum. They aren't to speak to him or agitate him in any way. When they tried bringing him out of the coma, he was combatitive, so they sedated him again. Doctors wanted to avoid drilling into his head to relieve the pressure, hoping it would dissipate naturally, but in the end they were forced to.

Doctors are telling his family to expect anything: from a full recovery to speech therapy to whatever. Nothing has shown promise yet.

Obviously, good vibes are welcomed. Fortunately he's a strong kid. Let's hope he pulls through just fine. And let's support him like crazy if he doesn't."

Word from people on Brighton's Ski patrol was that Kye was right behind CR when he crashed and there was nothing he could do.

So, More positive vibes to everyone effected. Hope things work out for the best.

Thanks for the update. Wow I hope CR is going to be ok...best of luck to him, and his family.

i hope he gets better, im keepin him in my prayers. what i wanna know iswhy was kye folowing so close? and if he wasnt why didn't someone clear him to hit the jump?

In as few words as possible...

CR and Kye were skiing in a train at Brighton, UT.

CR goes off cliff (or roller) and falls on the landing.

Kye, who was right behind CR and had no time to stop, landed on CR.

Only actual report of the spot of impact was just below the brow of his helmet in another thread.

Result = serious head trauma and helivac.

+++ Vibes again and again

or...

According to reports from his sponsors, C.R. Johnson is currently in University of Utah Hospital with severe head trauma. C.R. was filming in the Brighton backcountry when the accident happened. He had jumped a cliff and was collecting some lost gear when Kye Petersen launched the same air and collided with him, sources say. According to people close to the scene, as of Friday December 9, C.R. was in intensive care and sedated to aid his recovery.

yeah man we should work up a way to get some responses to his family, I mean there are hundreds on here wishing CR to get well, might as well show our support.

Newschoolers should think of someways we could help or send something.

Write to the University of Utah Hospital, C/O Lorraine Johnson. They will probably get it.

Dude, if you are going to say "I know someone who might be able to get us a line, or contact info" why not just say the name? You are talking about a person, why get flamed for using a pronoun when it is someone everyone knows?

because 90% of the people on this site say things like "oh i know tanner hall" thinking it will get them some sort of respect; when in reality the closest theyve been to t.hall is the poster on their bedroom wall.

this is a little different though.

this makes me want to cry.

i'm at the university of utah so he's like...less than a mile away

good thoughts and prayers
