the one event i look forward to each year is superpipe at X. for the past 2 years i was proud to be a skier but this year....whoa. snowboarding kicked our ass. back to back tens. just in every aspect. almost every skier fell in one if not all 3 of thier runs even in prelims. given the pipe was bad but the snoboarders delt with it and i only saw one fall last night. im just dissapointed. we have a long way to go. this whole x games sucked. except for ski slope and board pipe.

not really^ the snowboarders were goin really big last night and except for 3 skiers we really didnt go all that much higher then them. even dumont didnt go as big as last year nor did cr.

simon threw cork 5 around 20 feet out to an unnaty cork 5 a good 10-12 feet out. that right there is so sick.

i couldnt agree more, i was wait with such high hopes for the x games, especially pipe and the last too years have been BIG steps backward from 2003 when cr and Candide were going HUGE

how much do you think that Aspen caused this. I mean the Snowboarders are mostly older, or european and more used to intense partying. The skiers are also younger (not as good of drinkers) and went last therefore had a whole extra night of boozing

 
yeah pipe skiing had it rough they didnt even cut the pipe so it was rutted and icy but still everyone fell. whats worse then their performance was their attitudes. seriously what losers. simon screaming, yeah aspen!! all his friends lifting him up while the crowd was completly silent. then the cameraman interviewing tanner after... he was soo salty about he was trying to act like it didnt bother him but he looked like he was gonna cry. and after tanners okay run he skates up the hill and throws his poles down. wtf is this show some fucking humility. snowboarders were throwin it down. we have a ways to go in the pipe.

yeah dumont threw a sketchy cork 5 and like 20 feet, and then a hucked 5 on the next hit.

antti autti threw a switch 10 on his first hit like 14 feet out, then a backside 10 14 feet out the 2nd hit, and continued to throw 2 more 9s. both him and Andy Finch would have gone at least 3-4 feet bigger if it wasn't snowing last night! that would have made the pipe so slow.

i agree, we skiers got owned in pipe.

yea it was good but not that good, i was expecting more.

nice too see some one go off swich.

it just goes to show we still have some work to do to cach up to boarders.

 
someone up there said the last two years were a big letdown for skiing. this year, yes. but not last year, we stepped it up huge last year, alot of rookies showed up and simon proved to everyone how big skiers can go. i think what let us down most this year was not having candide or chrichton. the 2 best pipe skiers in my opinion

I think if the actual BEST pipe skiers were there, it'd be a lot more of a show. The big names are just that, big names. The best pipe skiers weren't there.

Vanular, Chricthon, Soldberg, and Candide were missing due to injury or falls. Those are 4 of the BEST pipe skiers no questions asked.

I always argue against my snowboarder friends that skiers can do better and more stylish tricks in the pipe but this xgames sure proved me wrong

not to mention that so many guys in snowboarding threw down solid runs as compared to a few in skiing. the pipe was not any worse either, it was nighttime for both

 
we didn't have belenger either, not that he's the best pipe skiers out there, but he's good. I'm very disappointed.

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

I was a bit dissappointed this yar too. the last two years were great. This year everybody was falling and not going that big. The boarders stole the show this year for sure.

 
ya, I forgot about belanger and turpin. there were a lot of the best skiers in pipe missing.

not having candide is what ruined the whole thing. he woulda dropped in for his first run, gotten a taste of what he had missed last year and just absolutley tore it up, probably doing something we've never seen before. and that woulda gotten everyone else pumped.

I think Xgames was super gay this year. They shouldnt even have skiercross, snowboard cross, motocross they are stupid. THey should have freestyle snomobiling and skier/snowboard big air and a rail jam. Big dissappointment.

i like how the guys who lost it on their runs werent bitching and actig like retards down at the bottom bibby and schiller both fell but stayed cool and walked off of it bibby acted real cool kinda mellow like waynes partner in waynes world i forgot his name then the guys who had nice runs but didnt bitch about it when they got not great scores and act stupid then tanner had that and acted like he didnt mind it but looked like he was real pissed and acted stupidly

 
I can understand how tanner felt. Training for so long for something and loosing it does not feel good at all. On top of that right when you find out you loose some bitch shoves a mic and camera on you... I would not have been happy.

 
tanner hall definitally should have gotten the gold. dumont had the amplitude all the way but hall had such a sick run.

 
i think the snowboarders pipe was better cause they would cut it freshly and the skiers never got to ride a fresh cut pipe for the finals only in prelims

I must say, after watching jon's run from slopestyle yesterday, he should without a doubt have gotten gold. his run was far beyond either of the ones that beat him. he threw smooth tech shit both ways and landed everything clean.

im glad im not the only one that thinks that skiers pipe really sucked this year. i was like wow, the snowboarding was so much more fun to watch.
