Not Excited for SLVSH Movie

Is it bad that I'm not that excited about the slvsh movie? Don't get me wrong, they've got a killer team and the project is probably going to be objectively very sick. imo though slvsh is so great because it's a totally unique format. Countless ski parts come out every year (no hate on this in general, of course. the quality and creativity in some of them these days is insane) and I think slvsh was kind of a breath of fresh air in terms of consuming skiing media.

Again the movie is probably gonna slap but I miss the uniqueness of slvsh and that game format
 
I would much rather see some SLVSH games too but that doesn’t make me any less excited about their movie.

Haha kids like you are the reason slvsh has a hard time surviving. Making a slvsh game isn't cheap and takes more time than you'd expect. You can only do so much for free before you have to move on in life. Bummer you'd say something like this that comes across as not wanting to support a company thats put out so many videos for you "free" entertainment.

This movie was almost all rider supported during a time when it was virtually impossible to travel and get funding to make games.

I appreciate that you say you will watch it. SO thank you. And keep your eyes out for games and the movie to drop soon.

And yes, i would pay for it. Just to keep slvsh alive. Funny that some people here forgot how it was 15 years ago.

No video streaming, no short Instagram clips or worse TikToks...

You had to pay for every single movie.

Nowadays people seem to expect, that everything is free.

I for one am extremely excited for this movie. You know the camera work will be great at minumum and I hope some of the humor from the games translates into the movie. I cant wait to see the creativity dealing with the covid travel situation and all these riders are killer.

Does anyone know how successful Keegan Killbrides patreon platform is? Perhaps slvsh could move to something like that, id totally be down to pay a small monthly subscription for access to new games released biweekly or whatever the slvsh guys could work out.

Pretty sure they just premiered at high fives, they're in if3 as well. They have been very low key about it, I imagine you'll see a big social push when they release the film online.

hadn't heard about this... fires me up tbh! curious to see what the format of the film will be.... definitely stoked for some more classic games as well!
 
I used to ride my bike to the grocery store to buy a $25 iTunes gift card, then use that to buy & download one ski movie off iTunes, just so I could watch it on this thing

iPod nano days were unmatched, playin vortex while on the lift was peak happiness

and I think we all should be extremely grateful for what slvsh is doing, in an era where skiers are moving to insta instead of making edits slvsh is still out here givin the ppl what we have come to love over the last few years

sounds like it’s a passion project more so than a TGR getting paid film.

Kids like you are why no film crews have a budget lmfao.

People will bash TGR and wish other crews had their budget, but the thing is, the TGR fanbase is saturated with people who are actually willing to pay money to watch their films.

"I wouldn't pay a buck to watch it" is such a slap in the face man
