todays skis have developed of decade old concepts used in water skiing. rocker... makes it turn better and makes more floaty... taper stops catching tips and provides smoother turning.. then once my mate asked how does the a-bangs never ge water logged??? well water skiis have been made out of ply for years... not saying we havent thought of new ideas but most have evolved by older ideas... my dad actually skooled me on the idea when i was explaining the concepts ahahah

No one cares how original ski technology is, it's not a contest. We just want our skis to perform as well as they possibly can.

And the fact that the Afterbang is essentially glorified plywood has nothing to do with them not soaking in water. This revolutionary thing called epoxy is actually waterproof believe it or not.

Go back to your dad and tell him that water skis technology were taken from snow skis since snow skis have been around for centuries.

There's an old saying "no idea exists in a vacuum", meaning that no idea or concept is 100% original or completely not influenced by something else. I challenge you to find anything that was not influenced, in some way, by something else. Heck, Jason even said he took the idea from skateboarding. He was just the first to apply it to alpine skiing. Original? Yes. Completely 100% uninfluenced by something else? No.

everything you can think of right now has already been done/tought of by someone else...

im just sayin no need to hate... and for the fact i was just saying it was interesting . i agree nothing is 100% original and everytihing is influence its just look a a water aki which is 60 years old then look at these "new" technologies on pow skis.... my dad no's nothing bout skiing. but he knows enough that a powder ski is based of the same concepts as water skis.
