Not another Ski/Binding thread...

I plan on getting the 08/09 invaders as my next. I only can ski park at my hill and I have been using 05/06 invaders 161cm, so i know how the ski rides. However I don't know what size i should get. I am 5'9 and 135 pounds. It's either the 171's or the 178's but i cant decide which would be better for me... I recently demoed the 175cm 08/09 4frnt tnk's, they were easy to adjust too and I liked the length of the ski, I had a lot more control and stability while riding. But since the tanks aren't center mounted I don't know how that would effect a center mounted ski like the invaders. So what size ski should i get, the 171's or the 178's.

2nd question I have is what bindings should i get. I honestly have no clue about ski bindings, I just started skiing 2 years ago and I didn't know what i was doing so the shop just gave me some shitty generic marker binding. I dont need some 20 din race binding, i just need something that is right for me. The biggest jumps I hit at my hill is like 40-55 feet, so hopefully that can give you an idea on what i need. Id say my max price on bindings would be $220, so anything under that would be great.

Thanks.

Ancient bumb....

I got the bindings and skis down, right now i am debating between 171 or 178 invaders, any more opinions are welcomed and +karma to whoever answers..

O and I went to the Doctor and he said i prob wont be growing anymore in height, so ill prob be around 140-45 by the time December rolls around and ill still be 5'9.

Thanks

Go with the 178 man. The extra length helps with stability on rails and in the air, less wash out.
It's a much better option. You will not notice any difference in weight and will easily adjust to 178s.

You will be satisfied.

So i just got 1 more question, in regards to binding selection. At first I was planning on getting Px 12 jibs for my invaders, but than i thought of the STH 12's. The major difference is obviously the price, do you guys think 100+ dollars more for the STH 12's would be worth it?

no. the sth is more of an all mnt. binding and it is hevyer then the px12 jib. the px will be much better for park

You don't need the STH, however they are a far superior binding to the PXseries and will outlast and perform better.
If you have the money and have nothing else to spend it on then yeah go for it.
It is not essential at your weight if you are tightish for cash or are using your parents (no hate i just don't know your cash setup), you could use the extra cash to get a nice lid or something you need.

It's up to you.
