Not a fan of pipe skiing

Personally, I enjoy watching slopestyle more, but pipe is much more fun to ski. A lot of people also don't realize how hard pipe is to ski. Even boosting 10 ft out though an entire run (obviously most pros go a lot higher), is really difficult, much less throwing in double flips, switch hits, and unnatural spins to make it tougher. Pipe seems a lot easier than it looks. Also, you have to be in a lot better shape to be consistantly getting 15+ feet out on each hit where as in slopestyle you don't really have to be in shape. In the end, I think slope is more fun to watch, but pipe is more difficult right now.
 
and pipe skiing is great for skiing because it appeals to a much wider fan base. in a slopestyle comp the average twice-a-year greater boston area resident doesn't have any idea of what's going on. In half pipe, they're like oooo he went really high and spun a bunch! and because of this interest from people outside of the sport, simon dumont will have to a lesser degree a similar impact as say vert skateboarders have on the youth of america. they think it's cool and want to do that as well, only instead of buying a tony hawk pro model skateboard maybe he'll go out and buy a pair of salomon twin tips. this will bring money into the sport which will cause the industry to grow and give more people within the industry opportunities such as the olympics and so on.
 
agreed i used to never ski pipe but then i learned 5s which arent even that good but i still love it i cant wait until next year gonna try to get more than a foot out :P
