i am going to practise these next time i am out on the rails and was wondering if they are difficult and if anyone has any tips on how to do them

SPEEEEEEED, go fast, thats the real key, also dont get alot of pop onto the rail, just stay low onto it and kida slide right on.....

from what I've seen and tried it's probably easiest to land on the rail normal and slide your feet away from the rail so your nose is on the rail. I haven't been very successful but I was getting there.

Ive tried tailslides and been somewhat succesful. But I'm scared to do noseslides. I practice first by doing 'tail-taps' onto the box after going really fast and learning the balance n shit.

did you mean like manualing or sliding the rail with the rail more towards the front/back of your bindings. if you meant sliding the rail with it not straight under your feet i recomend a box to start with. all you have to do is come up off center. like if i want to nose slide left foot forward i would line the rail up straight on with my right ski. then when i rotate the 90 degres to the rail it was just past the front of my bindings. it well on fatter rails like the balcony at mammoth or on a flat bar.

Just don't go slow. I tried a nose slide first time went to slow to minimize first time bail pain. Woke up minus one front tooth and a hella bad concushion.

gotta go fast, and try to land right at the nose of your boot. leana bit forward, you skis will atomatically slide so your on your nose and then pop off, but yeah also just ride on like the guy above said, dont pop cuz youll slide off.

WHERE ARE YOU HOIET

ive been trying to stall on top of this spine at my hill with just the tails of my skis and its fucking harrrrrrrd.

i imagine nose or tail pressing a rail takes alot of work and alot of confidence on rails.

but for the guy who said to land on it normal and slide your feet out? naw it would be alot easier to land on whatever part of your ski your trying to slide on and adjust your weight accordingly.

but i dont know shit

Hey bro, my advice is this:

Try it alot on a box before you come anywhere near a rail with the idea of pressing it. find flat down flats, dragons, whatever kind of box you have and dial it before you try a rail. get used to landing somewhere other than your bindings. The big danger with pressing is you can't really get on your inside edge, so you have to worry about catching burrs and shit. First just find a flat box and try landing on your tails, so your bindings aren't even on the box. get as close as you can to pressing the whole thing like that, its pretty hard. then try sliding it like that. go for a big flat rail with at least 4 feet between it and the ground so you dont catch anything if you slip off. i'd suggest a nose press first, because it feels more natural and it'll be easier to get your hands out in front between your body and the rail if it comes to that. just slide the rail a couple of times, make sure you disaster it cuz you're not gona be able to keep the press on any kind of kink. get used to the rail, and then when you're sliding it one time, let your skis slide back until its just barely the toe of your binding still over the rail, overbalance forward and move you feet back more to compensate and suddenly you'll be doing a nosepress. its super hard, and unless you're good at jibs i don't think you'll have much luck. I can just barely do it, and it's nowhere near to the nose of my skis. good luck though

If you don't make it the first time, you need to go bigger

its siple and easy , just instead of lining up to the rail right between ur legs shift over to one side and slide in normal but ahave a lot of weight on the front dont start with it under you and somehwo shift , it wont work , just line up more to one side and compensate for the nose balancing watever it is. its not that hard, if you go fats and commit to everythign uv basicly slidden the rail , make sure ur dins r good that would be a painful bail if u ate it form there
