Hey guys,

I'm a senior in high school who's looking at schools and definitely wants to ski(around 70 days junior yr) I know nothing about this school or the lifestyle surrounding it. All I really know about it is that it's in Nampa. Are there any resorts around Nampa idaho and how big is the city? Any parties and fellow ski bums around?

Are you a Nazarene? I don't know a bunch about the school but they sent me a free nalgene water bottle when I was in high school. Come up to NIC or UofI and ski Schweitzer, it's rad!

Damn, didn't even occur to me that Nazarenes were a christian sect haha, I'm not. They just keep sending me a whole bunch of e-mails. How far is Schweitzer from NIC and UofI?

I don't even really know what Nazarenes are and I am a christian, haha. They just emailed me a ton, even tried to get me to play basketball for them. Where are you from? Does Idaho get you instate tuition? NIC is like an hour from Schweitzer and UofI is like 2.5-3 hours but UofI has more major options

Yeah they seem to like sending out those emails. I'm from Salt Lake so UofU is my #1 choice right now because of instate tuition and 30 minutes to Alta/Brighton. It doesn't hurt to look around though and some Idaho schools seem pretty cool. I'm looking at schools in Montana/Colorado but Colorado seems a little bit pricy right now as I'll be the one working and paying haha.

Northwest is a christian school and is in Nampa, 2 things that both suck. Look at Boise state University, it is actually in Boise and there is tons of shit to do around it. Closest ski area (Bogus Basin) is about 30-40 minutes from BSU depending on traffic and how fast you drive, and you can hitchhike up easily. Definitely nothing compared to Utah skiing but if you go 2 hours north (Brundage, tamarack) there are a couple of places and some killer backcountry
