Northstar..

I haven't been there in forever. The last time I went to taheo I hit up sierra their sister resort and the park was great even though I didn't know much about park back then.
 
northstar is killing it this year. they got a new park groomer to make their jumps and now its super legit.

and if anyone wants to hate, all I can say is you need to ride there first before you diss them for what they were like in the past
 
Northstar is the chillest resort right next to boreal as in good vibe wise, if your gonna hate you either suck and some one called you out for sucking dick at skiing and your just but hurt, or you've never been there
 
their park is wayy better this year, jumps are actually legit rails and boxes are good as always... But as for the vibe? i dont feel it man, long lines for features quite a few cocky assholes snaking everyone on those long lines and then dont even talk to me about n* weekends...
 
its really fun on the weekdays when there aren't thousands of resort owners...

its sick how they have a super fast chair and long park run, you get a lot of laps... i prefer squaws kickers though any day even though their chair is slow as balls
 
not a huuuge fan of northstar.. kinda shitty terrain...

definitely sick park features though... way too crowded... but sick features for SURE.
 
"dat shitz legit son"...damn you should smoke some fools with your 9 because you are obviously straight from the hood...northstar is overrated everyone raves about it....the jumps are tiny.. the rails are alright but grinding is not cool..
 
i used to ride northstar every other day.
Ha pretty sure i got over that quickly.
I dont know if it was the people i couldnt stand with the whole scene thing going on there and oh yeah weekends at northstar i know people that spend double the time in lift lines then actually skiing.
Their pipe is good right after contests, haha.
Otherwise their park is average, especially in terms of degree of difficulty.
I would rather have like less features that are high quality like at alpine, then more features that a Poor quality at northstar.
The reason northstar is rated so high and looks so sick, is cuz when you see it in movies, thats all private set ups and not anything they would build during the day. That and the media can hype something out of proportion pretty quickly.
Definitely not a fan of that place at all. I know some people like it and thats cool if they do.
 
northstar has the sickest park in tahoe right now by far. they have super fun jumps this year and a nasty jib set up as always. not to mention that everything is set up perfectly. if you don't like the crowds don't go on the weekends.
 
The only bad thing about N* is the people who go there! Everyone there has the worst attitude, trying to show everyone up, or just straight gaper. N* blows in my book, you wont find me there when there are 4 MUCH better resorts just as close.
 
The star is overcrowded... I don't know about overrated. The park is fun cause its like a video game, though there are lines occasionally for features. . . Boreal is better for the most part, but the star has got some fun stuff like their monster rainbow box and tear drop rail.
 
northstar rules. i like it more than anywhere here in Colorado, as far as really fun parks go. it's warm, it's sunny, it's fun, and i loveee it.
 
Northstar probably has the best park in tahoe this year by far. They have the sickest rails, the most consistent jumps and the pipe is really good. Yeah the vibe kinda of sucks sometimes but if your with a fun crew it doesn't really matter. You can pretty much avoid most of that if you don't go on saturdays anyways.

Oh and the big jump on moonshine is perfect. Better than anything boreal or alpine has built.

 
northstar is actually extremely sick this year. but i agree with the people who say the vibes there suck. there can be a lot of haters in the park especially on the weekend.
 
Their locals are big-headed douche bags. I like how they can all 270 pretzel a rail but can barely spin a 5. Their freeride team is a joke, but how they can claim.
 
Well, i have 71 days at N* this season, and the park is pretty epic, the most assictive thing in the world is the massive c rail and trying to stick it.

no i never have because i don't have money for lift tickets and i always just go to heavenly, sierra, or northstar cause i have passes there. i heard alpine is fun in the spring, but i've also heard it isn't fun. i just like northstar cause it's not a park for superrrr pros and basically it just rules.
 
they are both pretty expensive now but you can easily get great local discounts and stuff... And both squaw and alpine have a really nice progression, not just a jump into insane features. Alpine is amazing not only in spring but year round, its a great place to go and you can get nice tracks for days after a storm. Squaw is also amazing all season especially in spring but it gets tracked fassst.
 
N* best place to ride.......in the summer

I need to make it up there this winter. would love to see what livewire looks like under a couple feet of snow
 
Northstar has never and will never build a perfect 87 foot booter thats open to the public.
Ha that went a little to far. I heard their jumps are different this year, but even people that love N* know that Jonas at Alpine builds better jumps.

 
I dont know about the best park in tahoe, but i seriously dont understand what all the hate is about. Obviously the NewSchoolers community has more hate than northstar, easily. Everyone i talk too is to high to even care about anything anyways
 
I dunno man. You have got to go check it out. Its got a really good shape (stepover), perfect tranny, big landing, and a massive cheese wedge lip that just floats you. I havent been to alpine for a while though so i could be wrong but its pretty damn good.
