Northstar?

How is northstar this year? I have a double whammy for this semester but I've only been riding at sierra until now, I'll be at northstar this weekend. It seems to me that everyone has moved to Alpine, but anyone up at northstar that can tell me how things are?

Norhtstars park BLOWS.

Alpine rocks my socks, and sierra has at least a decent jump up.

All of northstars good rails/boxes are still sitting on the side of the trail covered in snow, their pipe is great if its cut but otherwise its a sheet of ice, and their jumps throw you up twenty feet on a 30 ft deck and out 40-50. Easily overshot.

Im sure their park will get better, but right now something has to give....boreal and alpine are better by immeasurable amounts.

to each his own........

maybe that was a bit harsh, but as much walking and bs you have to go through just to get to that park you would think they would at least put some of those rails out, or put some landings on that jumps.

In my eyes, the first jump you case everytime. The second jumps fools the shit out of you cause it has a huge lip and throws you way up.....but then its tiny with a short landing and I overshot the hell out of it even when doing two or three speedchecks and hurt the shit out of my knee.

I hear northstars park is great when it gets going, but it has nothing on boreal or alpine right now.

hmm, interesting. I remember northstar's park being great last year. I'll be up at boreal friday night so at least I can compare.

The park has some decent flow and its pretty heavy in the jib department..with each jib setup pretty well so you can spin on, etc.

And the tables launch you pretty high..its nice for floating stuff out.

am i really the only one that thinks you shouldnt go as high as you do far???

I overshoot the two big jumps every damn time i hit them two or three speed checks and all and its hard on my knees.....that and the pipe being one solid sheet of ice everyday is my complaint.

They put a nice c rail up now though.

at first I didn't like how high it launched you..but it made throwing spins nice.

you could toss em nice and slow because you had more air time.

man i just died on those jumps! well, maybe it was my skiing, but i hit i think the second one and went up, landed on the knuckled and double ejected. yeah, maybe it was me, but the boxes and railz and log are pretttttttty dag fun. so is that 8 foot wide box hahaha

its 8x20.

and it looks like a giant DC Shoebox.

its sweet.

they have a stair set up too.

with box with ledges on left side, street rail down middle, and flatbar on right side.

northstar's rails and boxes on a morning when nobody else was there = one of my favorite days this year. so many jibs in a row it is ridiculous.

who skis at northstar on the weekends? I'd like to ski with a group.. im all alone.. *sad face*

yeah.

i got a pretty uncrowded and quiet sunny morning in the park like 3 weeks ago or so.

i had that awesome jibline to myself for a good hour.

:]
