Northstar opens this weekend!!! who's going up?

a conversation between two skiers:

skier 1 ' have you seen those new skis with the tips in the front and back yet'

skier 2 'no but I heard about those things'

Skier 1 ' yeah I don't see why they would want tips in the back...maybe they are try'n to copy those stupid snowboarders or something like that'

skier 2 'Yeah seems like kind of a stupid idea.'

Who's all skiing at northstar on here. I have only heard of like 3 or 4 people.

How can you not call Northstar a real resort. It has one of the best parks in Tahoe and if you know where to go you can get some excellent powder.

 
haha, ski mack, your such a bad ass, you should tell us were all the real resorts are cause I must be completely clueless. I don't know what those are?

I like Squaw, Alpine, Sugar Bowl, and Homewood (on powder days) They have these things called 'cliffs', and 'steeps' as well as great terrain parks, and they don't have long assed lift lines and $56 tickets. 'nuff said.

^Oh yeah, and at a 'real' resort, I don't have to walk through a god damned mile long village, and then a mile farther to wait in line for a gondola which is the only point of access to the mountain, and which almost always has a line.

I don't think Morthstar is that bad. It is definitely not the steepest hill out there, but for park and pipe they have really made a huge effort in that direction.

My only complaint with the place would be the huge amount of beginner skiers/riders there. There are numerous times I have almost gotten taken out on the runs or at near the lift lines. Regardless, anytime you are out skiing it is a good time no matter where you are at.

 
maybe thats why I mostly go up on weekdays. I haven't had to wait in line all yet. and I do admit it's no the steepest, but comeing to ski here from alta, nothing is going to be as steep. I also don't pay for lift tickets. I got a pass for only $219, try getting one that price at squaw, and I would be down with alpine, but northstar is closer and their park is prob going to be one of the best in the sierra's this year.

^yeah, squaw isn't a good example when it comes to charging too much for lift tickets, but their terrain is hard to beat on a powder day.

I'll mostly be at alpine and Sugar Bowl this winter.

i got yo back jex... you came from the middle of no where nevada, i came from new jersey.... we didnt know any better, we have since learned.
