Moving out to northern mn for work from ut in a couple weeks. Anybody on here live out there? What is there to do in the summer? I usually climb and ride mountain bikes all summer, but doesn't look like that's happening anywhere near where I'll be.

Where in mn? there’s a bunch of great hills up there. For a lot of people their summer revolves around the lake, it really depends where you are.

There are hella lakes and shit. I got eaten alive by bugs tho when I was out there for like 2 weeks

I'll be living in roseau. Looks like it's near lake of the woods?

Wow that’s north as fuck, you’re in a literal hockey powerhouse town

that ain’t nothing wrong with roseau, yes it’s far as fuck from everything but it’s a little town with deep history especially in hockey. Probably beautiful up there since it’s not degenerate hick up north.

I grew up in the Fargo area. I've been up in the Roseau area plenty. I'm glad OP is only there for a summer considering the things he enjoys to do.

OP, find a group of friends and go take a launch out on Lake of the Woods fishing. It's really fun. There's a couple state parks around up there too. Hayes Lake is one that's a southeast a little ways.

You interning at Polaris or something?

Cool, thanks for the info. And yeah I'll be up there working in sled suspension which should be cool

If you're going to be anywhere near Duluth there’s a ton to do in the summer. Its literally the place to be in the summer, and the mountain biking scene/community is huge here. If you're closer to Bemidji most people just hang out at their cabins all summer there. I'm not sure if renting a cabin and a boat is thing that exists, but that might be worth looking into lol. Same thing if you're close to Ely, except with Ely you have the Boundry Waters Canoe Area right there. Regardless of where you are, some trips into the BWCA and up the north shore of Lake Superior are a must. If you're near Duluth let me know I can tell you all sorts of things to do.

Go curling, Shoot guns, get a road bike, get a fishing licenses because someone you work with has boat or buy any water craft.

Also if your working at Polaris for the summer see if you could "test" some of the 4 wheelers or side by sides. I feel if your an intern they will help you out. I'm sure they have some great ATV/OHV areas in the north western parts of MN.

If you have the time during or after your internship is up you should totally go to the NE part of MN. Thats where MN really shines in my opinion. A BWCA trip should be on your radar. As well as checking out some of the parks on the North shore.

Already picked up a gravel bike haha. I have been told there are loaner vehicles I can use so that should be fun. Thanks for the info
