North Dakota Skiing?

Title is pretty much it. Moving to North Dakota for work purposes. I'm about 2 hours from Huff Hills, and it appears that they have a nice park (for a midwest 'mountain'). Anyone from ND or have skied in the midwest? I've been spoiled with New Mexico, Colorado and Utah.

Are you north or south of Huff Hills? If you're up north Bottineau is probably an option. Not too sure what they have for a park, I've never been, but for some reason a lot of people up here in Manitoba trek down there to ride.

I'm East of it ha. I'll be living about an hour or two east from where it is.

Not sure as far as North Dakota goes, but I live in South Dakota. We have a tiny hill here in the southern part of the state that I'm sure is like what's there in North Dakota. It will definitely be VERY different than what you have been used to out west. The rails and jumps can (and often do) suck, but just have fun and make the most out of it.

To give you an idea...it's 2 minutes up the lift and about 20 seconds down lol

.HERO, i'd be down to at least road trip to SD and check it out! I'm not exactly the best at park, but I could progress slightly up here! Best part is that the town i'm in has flights to Denver for like 250 round trip, so Rocky Mountain skiing is still a possibility.

Yeah man, I mean its not very good but hey it's something! Plus the midwest has rope tows too so you get speedy laps. That's some sick flights!

Fuck Great Bear....go to Terry Peak, they are going to have wayyyy better terrain than GB. But Terrys park sucks some real ass.

But if you are thinking of going to Great Bear im assuming you are Eastern ND....so it would be a hell of a drive to Terry.

Nice to see more South Dakotaners getting into NS.

Yeah, I'm about 90miles west of Fargo. Still learning the area. Do a lot of people hit up urban spots?

I'd maybe try and check out Detroit Lakes, MN area. I think Detroit Mountain? Is like 2hrs or so East of you. They have a decent park for where they are located

I was there one day this year. Their tube rails are god-tier. Their jumps are weird, they're lippy table tops with awful landings. You get absolutely launched and either find the sweet spot or hit gucci, both feel the same. I wanted to go big with a 3 but went 5 too deep and exploded.

I just looked up their trail map. Park looks dope. It's about the same distance from Huff Hills, i'll more than likely hit this place up!

Hope to shred and film with you all!

If you can do a 540, 360 with a grab, or slide a rail with control it literally melts the brains of the kids there. I don't know how much of a park scene there is out there. You'll probably meet some homies from the universities near there.

Great bear is about a 5 hour drive for me. That place in MN is closer. Maybe one day I'll take a weekend trip up there and find a place to crash.
