I have never really found it to help with speed as I never get timed, much less down to the thousanth of a second that it would only help with.

From a structural standpoint, it doesn't really eliminate the stress concentration from the scratch enough to matter for durability. Mayybe if you hit a rock in the exact same spot it would help. The bottom line is I have always found tiny ptex repairs to vibrate out quickly and it's just a waste of ptex/littering tiny toxic plastic pieces on the mountain.

My repairs don't fall out.

90% of the core shots you get arent really that bad and can be buffed out with wax at the end of season. You would have to literally smash your skis as hard as you can on a jagged rock to get a long lasting core shot. Dont worry wax will save you.

We ain't talking about scratches here. Exposed core don't come out with a simple tune.

so true man but imagine skiing on a volcano where all the rocks look like this



at that point there are no smooth rocks and they will all shit and piss on your bases so hard. it’s also rocky like 2/3 of the season

Try Snowbird, that place will chew up your skis so fast. I actually had my worst core shot at Solitude so its really anywhere in the Cottonwood Canyons i guess.

I remember when I got back into skiing around 7th grade and a small resort opened 20 minutes away from me and all my homies and I jumped off rocks deep in the PA woods on our downhill Rossi skis. Looking back we may have been totally jerrys but we had a blast.
