Nordica v Faction

faction has definitely caught my attention. Adam delormes edit was a perfect marketing strategy for a pair of skis. I'm very impressed.
 
Thats easy to say but for any skier making a pure urban seg be on par with the status of candide it would have to be better than wallisch. How ever many people disagree, the list of pros not comparable to those three is very long. I don't mean any disrespect, those guys just have something special.
 
Yes. They are fucking incredible, every trick those two do looks like the best version of that trick i ever saw until i remember how the other guy did it or Candide or Delorme. Then I start to feel dizzy and need a sit down and a drink of water.

I'm sorry you think I'm ignorant but maybe you should stop to think that some people might actually form an opinion based on more than the current popularity of something. I know how good Tim is and he is incredible but those guys are to me some of the best skiers ever.
 
Glad 2 companies on the smaller (for freestyle) have been doing so well. Killer teams on both ends
 
A couple people have said nordica is an "east coast company." im pretty sure theyre actually an italian company.I like faction better. nordica has always seemed like a race company. faction is cooler. plus the nordica site blows. factions is more user friendly and visually appealing.
 
The Faction 3.0 candide is the best freeride pow ski ive ever been on. Yes you have to charge on it and you have to be able to initiate turns waaay ahead of time, but the ski makes you a better skier for sure and its so freaking light!
 
Its a tough one but heres my view. For nordica you have Ian Compton, he's smooth, stylish, buttery and steezy. Slays the park and makes that shit look easy. For faction you have Thovex, he's smooth and stylish yet theres something else about him that i just can't seem to put into words. Put him in the park, he's rip that shit up, put him in the backcountry and he's do exactly the same. But if Ian compton was to be put in the backcountry what would we see? In my option the only way to settle it would be either a fresh backcountry & park edit from each of them and it then placed on newschoolers for us to decide. In my opinion its got to be faction purely do to Thovex but there really only would be one way to decide.
 
You can't compare Compton to Thovex. There is no comparison there. Thovex is next level. Nobody compares.
 
There's no sense comparing them. Ian Compton doesn't even do tricks on jumps. Lately I've only seen him do japan and mute grabs on straight airs. Also, I don't think the has ever spun more than a 540 in an edit (on jumps, 630's off rails don't count).Candide on the other hand destroys jumps and is almost equal on rails. So overall, Candide is a much better park skier. End of story. But it's hard to compare them because they are completely different when it comes to their ''style'' of skiing.
 
Hahaha, this is why I love nordica and if you talk to one of their riders they are just like this. They slay the mountain so hard but with fun on their minds
 
amen brother! Candide is just in a league of his own.. the fast at everything league. compton just farts around on rails and eats pizza. At least PWhite started as a park rat and went big mountain.. come on compton, go to inferno and hit the big boy jumps...
 
Look the weak episode of comptons giving away a pair of OMW to a kid, ian is a such a real skier! Havent seen this on other skiers.....
 
Talkington is good but again doesn't compare to Candide, Candide is a Legend of the sport. He has just done too much and is still charging hard. Both faction and nordics both have really good teams but candide just puts faction that little bit higher up for me.
 
that was 3 years ago if i recall.. and he hit a trap rail, a chain link, a tree, and a closeout rail leading to a lake and juggled some snowballs in a snow storm..
 
and a 2 huge fucking wood rails with super tech on them both, It was a real good watch but not on the webz right now, I think you've confused some stuff up
 
It's not like it was some mind blowing part dude. Had some cool shots but It was average at best compared to everyone else in that movie.
 
pretty sure espn has the behind the scenes of it... that doesnt show him hitting any jumps.. so im confused how your point is valid in your opinion.

i will give you this though. yes, ian is in ski movies and i am not, yes ian is on nordica and i am not. he's doing well for himself in the freeski world and has a presence. for me, he'll never be on par with candide, delorme, or even mcveigh for that matter in my opinion.
 
I'm pretty sure that the ESPN coverage was about his filming with L1P a year before After Dark (for Eye Trip to be certain), he never had any shots in the actual movie but he hits some of the same spots Will Wesson did (in Eye Trip). But yes, the point is that he doesn't have any jump shots in either movies, that's for sure. Just wanted to clear things up a bit.
 
nobody has even brought Nordicas legends into the picture. Rory and TJ have both contributed to the progression of skiing.
 
Candide is the only dude to win X-games big air, slopestyle and pipe and then go on to win the Red Bull linecatcher and freeride world tour overall title and if his most recent edits are any indication, he's not slowing down. At all.

TJ was/is an incredible skier and was one of my favourites for a long time, but I haven' seen much from him in the last few years. I also haven't really been paying a lot of attention, so there's that. Same deal with Rory.

I'd love to see more from these guys, but the fact of the matter is even if they came back hard, both of their comebacks combined wouldn't be as significant as the comeback Candide seems to be making.

(I really don't know about any of the other guys)
