I can't Decide between the Soul Riders and Atomic Theory

I'm from the New England area but not near anywhere I could demo, I'm like 3 hours away from the mountain in CT. Iv been skiing on and off about the last 7 years. I'm 21 and 5'10 148lbs. Id say I'm almost in that advanced category. I ski mostly Okemo and killington but smugglers notch is my favorite spot. With the help of you NS I have been able to narrow it down to the Soul Riders and the Theories. let me know what you think as this is my first pair of twin tips ever!! Thanks guys and have a nice Saturday.

Theory's are a pretty directional ski, IF you're looking for a bidirectional park/all mountain ski the soul riders are a great option

Point taken, have you heard anything about the Atomic Access ? I feel like I'm almost ready to make a decision.

bump…I love to look for fun and speed around the groomers 35% rip the trees 35% and the rest of the time I'm in the park.

havn't been on the soul riders before but have ridden the theories for a week or so. One thing i can tell you is that they rip, tear apart a couple inches of snow in the woods and are great for groomer charging.

Very responsive skis and can hold a good edge. Don't know what they are like in over a foot of snow but they are superb for anything under a foot.

If you'll be in the park definitely don't go with the access, it's pretty much completely directional, if you were to mount the soul riders just a little back they would be super versatile; trees, groomers, rails, and jumps will feel damn near perfect. Don't get me wrong, both are great skis, but the soul riders will fit your criteria better

Thanks man good to know. I figured the theories would be able to ski switch fairly well because of the rocker in the back and i'm new to the park so won't be hitting anything to crazy but I'm loving the boxes rails and jumps.

Yeah the theory's will feel off on rails and great on groomers whereas the soul riders will feel great on both...

I guess the one thing I'm worried about with the soul riders is they will be chattery and unstable at high speeds. I know people say there not as soft as people make them look but they must be pretty soft for people to be saying that. I really need to go demo them but thats not real easy for me.

They're not soft, they're playful lol. I ski the soul rider everywhere on the east, stowe, stratton, killy, even Huntah lololol! But seriously I've never had a problem with em. And they turn like freakin race skis, awesome awesome ski.

Thanks its good to hear from someone that rides em. That clears that up, yea iv heard they really push you out of the turns and i like that. Playful sounds fun to me people have told me the're real quick which i love and great in the trees. I know its not really meant for charging but how has it been for you at high speeds? n how about ice?

No problems when I'm cookin, they're 97 mm under foot which gives the stability you need for a ski with no metal and they have a full vertical sidewall so it holds a retarded good edge. Let me put it to you like this, by working in a shop for 4 yeras now, I've gotten to ski the majority of whats out there and this is the ski I bought this year. Like I said dude, trees, pow, hard pact, even the park if you want, this ski rips EVERYWHERE! Enjoy em
