Nordica Ace Of Spade Boots

Has anyone skiied these yet?

I'm thinking of getting some as they are some of the only freestyle specific boots that will fit my feet (small and wide). (I struggle to even get normal boots that fit before I get all the comments about getting the boot that fits best!)

What's the 100-130 progressive flex all about? Do they feel quite stiff or just stiff in the right places?

I got a pair when they first came out. Love Them! Have you tried them on? I know its hard cause they are still pretty rare, but it would definitely be worth trying to get a set on your feet before trying them. Reason being, my feet will fit into a boot with a 98mm last with no worries, and the Ace of Spades don't feel really sloppy, so unless there is lots of room to pack out which i guess could be the case, they feel a little narrower than the claimes. You shouldn't have any problems though unless your foot is a like an EEE wide.

The progressive flex is a really unique experience. I ski about 50/50 park and all mountain. At first I was worried they would be to soft for big mountain riding, but once you start really riding the boots hard they stiffen up and are super comfy. But in the park I land backseat just cause I can now, lots of protection from shin bang.

These boots are so light! No putting things out of proportion, but the first time I took them out, I was walking from my vehicle to the lift and noticed my feet felt funny. It was how light the boots are. The colours in my opinion are super sick, and so much better in person. Oh yeah did I mention they have a Vibram sole, which is like what is the rubber soles on hiking boots, this is another noticeable feature when hiking the park or just crossing the icy parking lot at the end of the day.

Hmmm What else can I tell you about the boots? Oh yeah, as long as you buy the right size you will love them! BUY THEM!

they arent super wide, 101 last, i noticed they fit bigger when trying them on, i would suggest sizing down, but make sure u try them on before buying them because if u dont then ur not being smart on boots. if ur feet are as wide as u say they are, u might have a problem with the heel pocket, i felt it was def on the narrower side

Oh thank god, my heel moves all over the place in my current boots. When I can afford new boots, these are probably what I'll buy.

bumping this old thread for two reasons:

first i rode them all through the second half of the season and i must say i'm pretty satisfied. no need to repeat what j_hamborg already wrote, i agree on every point: they fit quite narrow, but not too much (100mm or so) (only problem i had is that they packed a bit on the toes; but it's not a boot fault, it's because i'm an idiot and i should have bought them 1/2 shorter. anyway i solved it with a thicker footbed)

the progressive flex makes them good all-around, but with a stiffer feeling, and the more you tighten the ankle buckle, the stiffer they get. Other highlights are paddings, the Vibram ISO sole and the low joint that allows a more natural flex.

second reason is that for 2010/2011 Nordica has two new park and pipe boots similar to the Ace of Spades, but with a softer flex and quite cheaper, and two women's boots.

quite interesting, imho:
