"Noobs, newbs etc"

Ok so here's my rant, its long overdue but since I have a few minutes I figured I may as well get it over with.

I am sick to death of new kids on this site being labelled as newbs. All it takes is one person to say that and then magically all the posts below him suddenly change to newb bashing.

We all know there is a search bar but if you've been on here long enough you know that not all answers can be met by using the almighty bar. For every 10 people that say "use the searchbar n00b" there is hopefully at least one person that can spare 20 seconds to answer his question.

It's like orientation for grade 9's in highschool. When they ask a question to their group leaders regarding school code/history etc the group leader doesn't turn around and say "look it up newb."

To me you look a lot better if you can stick out in the crowed of "stfu newbs" and actually help someone out with a helpfull link to that topic that they either A. Couldnt find in site records or B. Couldnt find outside of newschoolers (google etc.)

So for my conclusion all I have to say is grow up guys. We have the capability to answer questions with at least some type of educated response so use your damn head and help some "newbs" out.

Flame if you will, I really could care less.

except soemtimes they ask something which already has a thread 5 threads below on the same page
 
True, but honestly I wasnt a complete genious when I first got on here.

I forgot to add that I have no problem with flaming someone who refuses to use the searchbar or asks the same question repeatedly after it's been answered.
 
i agree with you, but there are times when there is multiple threads allready on the subject on the same page. There are also angry threads made bitching about why a thread is gone when they didnt even take the time to look threw the other forums and check the searchbar. While the allmighty bar may not always give the result they looked for it does 90% of the time. There is only so much pacience i have with some things.................
 
i dont know which one of you were talking to but your the one who needs to shut the fuck up, the guy made a valid point

i have no problem helping out clueless newbs, i try to whenever i can. it's just the newbs that come here and spam this shit out of the place with 10 threads about how he jumped down some stairs. nobody cares, dumbass, kill yourself.

when newbs come here they dont know the site very well.

and they dont need people bashing them.

besides, who cares if someones new or not it doesnt mean that you make fun of them.

besides, we were all noobs once.

and yes, i agree that i am in noob status.

however, post count doest always mean alot... there are many people whose member number is 4 times higher than mine but have more posts than me. I always look at member number instead of post count.
 
Even memeber numbers dont mean shit. Its all in how active you are on here.

Maybe an hour clock would help more but thats just lame.

in a video game it used to be about how long you were on but it turned into your skill level, if you play for a week but are already good your no longer a noob, i think its the same on ns, if you figure your shit out quick then you have graduated to 1337ness...god im a fucking nerd
 
i agree with u ..... but what pisses me off is those stupid newbs/ aliases who come on here and make threads such as "how do u make a thread"
 
sometimes it is pretty straight forward and new or not people will ask say stupid things which need to be made fun of

I, by no means, am as seasoned as most posters, but when I first began posting on the messageboard, I made sure to search all posts posted regarding what it was I had a question on. Most, if not all of the responses I got were educated and sincere, with no "n00b" hate. It is possible to not come across as a novice on this site even though your post count may be low. As a result of my pleasant experience when I first came upon NS, I try to give back by avoiding the "search bar" nonsense.
 
I don't really care that this thread has been made multiple times because I said what I felt needed to be said. No other thread will put words in my mouth so my views came straight from what I thought.
