My little cousin got this Boys Life mag for scouts or something. The cover had a picture of some kid hitting the take off to a rail and just landing on the ground. You know just being a gaper. I read the article about the cover story and all it said was that these kids from florida decided to go skiing. All right I'm cool with that. But they were showing the kids putting on their skis and they were all looking like they were going to eat shit just from that. The kids had the chin straps from their helments under their bottom lip and some were wearing blue jeans. No one had proper length poles, the pole were like 4 feet long for a 5 foot tall kid. So many things wrong here.

I am ar school right now so when I get home I'll see if I can post the article. This shit is so far from ok.

The reason I say that is not cause I dont want gapers in the park (which I don't) but rather because all the "tips" they gave were not correct. Putting pictures of kids with their equipment on incorrectly or not being used properly is what bugs me.

I am pretty chill... Wait not in this. I just hate seeing kids fuck up because their stuff is bot being used right.
 
Not that. I am fine with that. Its the fact that someone published this. The company should not tell kids to use their equipment incorrectly. Instead they ahould publish an article including the proper use of skiing equipment and beginer tips.
 
Why spend 300 bucks on a gopro to record this? Felt like wasting money? Thank you for showing me this many laughs

Looks like the kids are having a blast.

OP on the other hand seems a bit aggravated. It would appear he wasn't hugged enough as a small child.
 
it's some young kids from a state that practically never gets snow. a majority of the readers are going to be able to better identify with the 'gaper-ness' of the pictures and such than some idealistic newschool fashion show pictures. i think you are letting it bother you a little too much.

My brother got that issue of Boy's life too. My siblings and I were all face palming at the side-gape on the cover. Can't say I was very impressed by the article either but at least it's promoting our sport.
 
I was gonna say... LOOK at this kid. Florida? Probably the best skier from there now that he went on that trip. Also, aggressive GoPro placement in this, GTS.
 
Right but im saying that the mag did not tell people how to do the sport safly like they did in other articles. I dont get the mag anymore but i did. My troop does ski putings all the time and they are fun as hell but we take the time to tell the kids how to wear their fucking helment. I guess im more upset about the lack of caring by the leaders. Its not so much that they are gapers but that they are not skiing in a safe manner for beginers.
