Non-profit and non paid training?

Howdy

So I was offered a job at a non profit summer camp, I likely will not be taking the job, however they said that training was unpaid?

Is that legal in any way? I havent ever heard of unpaid training....

If someone has some knowledge or experience in this department I would appreciate it.

If they classify you under a trainee they don't have to pay you. Exact same thing happened with me at a vegan cafe sort of thing.

I went through unpaid training for my old summer job as a zipline guide, I didn't think it was legal either, but I learned some useful shit with ropes and stuff which was cool.
